As a NES collector, I have a few games from different countries. Die Schlumpfe (Smurfs, German) and Asterix (French). I got both of these games complete, of course I cannot read the manuals. I photocopied both and took them into school with me.

I asked the German teacher if she would translate the Smurfs manual for me and she's like "sure." I did the same thing with the French teacher and Asterix and she agreed to translate that for me as well. Besides that, our French teacher though it was really cool how they made an Asterix NES game and she asked me a lot of information about it.

I haven't gotten the translations yet, though I soon'll have them. Just goes to show what can happen if you ask the right people. I felt a little dorky asking, especially since I took 3 years of Latin and never took French or German, but you never know what'll happen unless you ask.

There are some Asterix games around here for dirt cheap....I think they're in English too.... I'd never seen an Asterix game until I moved to Canada and they're all over here.

Same here. I've got my own personnal Japanese translator of sorts. He's been bugging me to let him spend the night in my darkroom. I think I'm gonna let him do it, on the stipulation he translates my Dreameye manual while here's there.

"Spend the night in your darkroom? First time I've heard that one. He must be pretty talented if he can write a translation for Dreameye simultaneously. 8-)
