well, how did you learn about "Alarm für Cobra 11" then if you don't know if it was under dev???I didn't as it was not one of my entries to the rumor mill, that's why I'm asking for proof now that it was in development.

@AtariBuff

All games that are currently on the Rumor Mill list are from what I have heard or seen/reviewed in mags.
Also whats this previously unknown release? :hmm:

I think I may partly be the cause of the Rumor Mill in the first place... Joe was rolling my lists into his, but I had listed a lot of stuff that was questionable (marked where I could!), and he wanted that stuff to be all off on its own, whereas my "rumor mill" was only the purely speculative stuff, and the items that were actually announced/listed in magazines and ads usually went in the main body of my lists. So, Joe dutifully moved everything questionable from his lists, my lists, and probably others, into the Rumor Mill, no matter how likely they were to exist. We're talking the NES heyday when this occurred, so the lists were mostly pre-NES stuff, and you'd get things like Superman III for 2600 (in reality it was a demo for the movie, and later an Atari 800 cart I guess, but it was never even planned for the 2600), or pre-release names like Hot Rox (as opposed to Demons To Diamonds) before the connection was made that it was the same game. I suppose it might make sense to add another section -- or at least some kind of marker -- to distinguish between those that were probably in prototype form (but haven't shown up) as opposed to total unknowns (really just rumors).

@Slapdash
thanks for your insight knowledge :)
I'm no enemy to the Romur Mill but there surely are many entries for every system in the guide that are more then rumor and purely speculation. It's our duty to help the collectors (who look for complete collections) what really is available on the market/available in prototype form/a rumor.

very well, Tinsair ;)

I found "Legend of Foresia" on eBay and thought of it to be a previously unknown release - in reality it's the french release of "Blaze & Blade" :D LOL

I remember discussing about some Yetisports game with you. If it was World Tour, I must have made a copy/paste error or had the not-so-rare brain fart moment as I didn't manage to add it onto my list.

Mumble Jumble Time:

I have NEVER seen the PAL english versions "Pre-School Learning with Winnie the Pooh" and "Pre-School Learning with Mickey" on eBay and the german versions were damn hard to find O_O especially the Micky one which I only saw ONE time on eBay for the last year or so. Winnie showed up 2 times more now since I got the first that showed up in the last 12 months also but this was also surely released in ***very*** limited quantities. Get them while they are cold.

I'm waiting atm for the "Final Fantasy VIII" collector's edition, a "This is Football" MultiTap edition and something else which i can't remember right now. ;)
Got 2 limited released "Spyro" and "Spyro 3" editions with CD-carrying cases included in oversized boxes. Will up pix of them on the link provided below on the weekend.

Junior Sports Football (NOT the ComicStar Collection re-release) was released with a soccer field to fold out and stickers which one has to rub with a pencil to the desired location (Google for "Kalkitos" and you know what I mean). I got the game last week and was delighted to find said two previously unknown (to us) items in mint condition under the manual. I will up pix of this one also.

Someone please point me to a site where I can witness the "Wing Over directory of planes" chart with my own eyes.

Enough.

Anyone know how rare Fun & Learning vol.1 + vol.2 (both PAL) are? Please post your question in the appropriate PS1 PAL thread.

The question remains :)

AtariBuff
11-28-2005, 08:11 AM
:) I don't know these two games - do you refer to Rayman Junior (Level 1-3) or what? :)

BTW: I have a spare Cosmic Commuter (box only) - interested?

No, the 'games' are called Fun & Learning vol. 1 + Fun & Learning vol. 2. They seem to be unlicensed, because when you start there is a message "this software has not been licensed and/or endorsed by SCEE" (or something like that). Although both of them work without any problem on my unmodded PS2. They also come in generic black DVD cases. If I remember correctly there was a manual included. I can post a picture tonight if you want.

I'll keep the CC box in mind, but for now i just need the game (no need for the box without the game)...

AtariBuff
11-28-2005, 08:44 AM
yes, please, pictures of these would be nice - unlicensed or not - if they are PAL they belong into the database.

i will check if i also have a spare cart of CC (was also the last boxed Activision game i acquired for my collection - now it's complete).

[Edit] I already checked them out - to find them on eBay for EUR 5 and up they surely are not pricy but who knows how many of them were made?

I have a couple of those, too. I forgot I even had them. Blaze sent samples to the videogame store where I work every now and then and asked if we would've been interested in selling them. We were not, so I just took them home with me. I have them listed over here (http://www.students.tut.fi/~tiainen2/collection/ps2pelit.htm).

Gotta have all the variations. :D
If you liked the first game, you'll like Lost Planet. It's more like an updated version of the original than a sequel, in both you get nice visuals, meh voice acting and OK gameplay. If you want one, find either the European or American version since they had analog support and fixed some slowdown issues.

The german & austrian department store chain "Lidl" released a new PlayStation 1 PAL game this monday. It seems to be a release like "All Star Action" with many games merged onto one CD. As it was only sold in german stores of "Lidl" I shall have it by today or tomorrow and I will keep you posted about it. Talk about a dead system... :P

Nope that cannot be the game AtariBuff is secretly gonna reveal, as we already have that one on our database, minus the outer box. It was released by Phoenix Games a while back.

@AtariBuff

I have managed to dig out my copy of Wing Over, and I have sent you 2 scans of the "Wing Over directory of planes" chart.

AtariBuff

@Tinsair
scans not here yet :)

Shoot was NOT released by Phoenix - Kids Playground is also missing. The "7 Shoot Games" cover is a black/white version of the "Shoot" mock-up cover.

Which game was I about to reveal? Hmmm, let me think - Legend of Foresia was just a country variant; Yetisports World Tour was already mentioned above - I have no clue, Tins :)

Taxi 2: Le Jeu (http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/game.cmf?gameid=28394) was developed by DC Studios, just acquired the game for 3 bucks incl. shipping :)

edit: the ESRB rating is wrong, it's not 3+ but All Ages

AtariBuff
02-17-2006, 05:22 AM
yes, the ESRB rating - we marked all "all ages" games with 3+. that's one of our least important to-do's right now.

the Taxi 2 developer info is already listed in the maintainer's databases since July last year but no update has been sent to Joe. we're completely finished on most datafields only the game style category and half of rarity/value is missing.
