OK, so i'm entering the pal scene. Thanks to a cheap score on a pal zero wing(4.50-gbp shipped to usa) I'm finally getting in.
My question to you guys is, where the hay is your info? I don't feel as if i'm undermining DP - As the books say, DP is very NTSC-centric.
Any help is appreciated. I'm just trying to find lists/info for MD, SMS, Game Gear, NES and SNES mainly. :) I don't really care about "dollar worth" per se as much as just info as to what games you lucky PAL people got that NTSC didnt(such as super fantasy zone, mmm)
thanks chaps!

For Mega Drive games theres nothing better than the online DP guide (unless your importing from Australia, but thats another story). James (Anagrama) has done a great job with the PAL releases :rocker:
He also made a list of MD games without Gen releases, which he would probably have posted here but I'll save him the trouble because I have it saved :D

I too would like to see a little info regarding PAL games - Even if it's just stuff like confirmed release dates for PAL DreamCast games or something.
I was scanning through the database the other day, and it didn't even recognise a PAL release of Marvel Vs Capcom II!!!
I'd love to know about certain different releases of DreamCast games - Ie, different covers / language releases Etc...

There's a German board (http://12045.rapidforum.com/) I frequent that has a rarity section - if you want to know how much a specific game is worth, you post a thread there and other users will tell you. The threads get updated once in a while, so that you've always got the most recent price. While they aren't exactly determining rarity values for each game, you can guess the rarity by the games' value of course ^^ I haven't seen any real PAL rarity lists though yet.

There's really not a great deal of *reliable* info out there, besides what is in the DP database - SMS, MD, MegaCD, 32X, Saturn & DC are all covered, SNES and PSX (and others?) are in-progress.
If there's any other good resources out there I'd also love to hear about it.

Release dates for almost all PAL DC games are in the DP database

Again, check the database - hydr0x has done an excellent job with the DC section, and almost all regional variations are covered, I believe.

Thank you VERY much, I badly needed that MD list.
According to an australian collector i know, AUS didn't get many sega exclusives - thus i'll most likely stick to PAL/UK in their ballpark...now to find the excruciatingly difficult info: SMS games, only released in PAL, that were not released on NTSC/U genesis, or PAL MD.... @_@

Bock's SMS release list at SMSpower is probably what you want:
http://www.smspower.org/museum/lists/smsall.txt
It doesn't have rarity info, but it's easy to see which games were released in which regions. Raccoon Lad's SMS section of the DP database should cover the rarity info pretty well (although a lot of games are rated a touch too high in comparison to other systems).
Also, regarding Australian MD stuff - they did get a few non-Europe games, but most were also released in the US - Fatal Fury 2, Ecco Jr and a few EA sports games. They also got Shane Warne Cricket (modified version of Brian Lare '96) and Daze Before Christmas, which AFAIK was not released anywhere else for the Genesis/MD.
There are also loads of funky Australian re-issues - the Gold Collection & Platinum Collection games, the silver cart games and the 2-in-1 doublepacks. For a relatively small market, they did quite quite a bit of unusual stuff.

I got lucky and found a .pdf of the MegaDrive rarity list from here floating around. The Mega-CD I've made up as I go along, but other than that there's precious few resources except for Anagrama's excellent work :rocker:

Ruud has a very good PAL NES list and there's also Stans list from NES World.
For SNES, i'm working on it, didn't have too much time lately (haven't been active at the board too) but 95%-99% of all releases should already be in the db, of course still without rarities and prices, will take some time to do that (hoping to be able to do them in my holidays from february to april) but still there's no better list out there, trust me, i did of course search for other lists when i started my work on this one ;)
if you want to get an idea of what's rare for PAL SNES, check out this thread, everything NOT proven yet and the ones proven within the thread are quite/very/extreme rare

No, they're another Ozisoft oddity, I believe. I've seen a couple of those before, but haven't thought to list them in the guide - I'll add them next time I update it. I know I've seen Brian Lara Cricket like that aswell.
Also, I got that copy of Shane Warne V2 a while back, and both V1 and V2 are based on Brian Lara '96. Not sure what the difference between the two is at the moment, I'll have to get a copy of V1 aswell and do a side-by-side comparison.

are you still absolutely sure both exist? as i told you a while ago i bought Shane Warne from ebay australia and the box doesn't state V2 or anything like that but the cart is V2, i seriously doubt that two different versions exist

Yup, I got a copy with V2 on both cart & box recently. It's just a sticker on the box, but is printed on the cart. There's copies on eBay.au without the V2 on the cart.
I'm guessing that it's either a seasonal update with slightly different teams, or just a bug-fix of some sort. Once I get hold of a V1 copy I'll check it.

Bock's list at SMSpower is comlete as far as I know. It doesn't have the alternate covers and stuff yet, but I imagine it'll all be in the forthcoming database version.

as already mentioned, all sega pal lists at DP (incl. my own 32X and Dreamcast ones) are pretty good already
I'm a PAL collector exclusively - I'm not interested in NTSC releases as a general rule, unless there's something really special that wasn't released in PAL. What I can't seem to do with these DP lists is just display any games released in PAL, regardless of whether they were released in NTSC territories too.
Is there any way of just showing the PAL games?
Only lists I'm bothered about are 32X and Mega-CD (have a Saturn and Dreamcast list already) :)

just click on 32X and non-us games, you will get all PAL and Japan games then (only one jap for 32X), not only the exclusive. problem is that a PAL-only search is not possible right now although it would be no problem technically, but even after several requests nothing has happened, only thing we can do is don't give up :D
