How many people here can stand up and say that they own a gaming rarity which they are 99% certain no one else on DP has?

What I am getting at is - It is quite easy for a group of collectors (Like ourselves) to get together and start bragging about their colelctions - But sooner or later a bunch of collectors will have pretty much the same things, so that kinda takes all the fun out of it all...

Ie, it's all well and good saying you have a particular rare PS1 game in factory sealed condition, but if a handful of other people also have it in the same condition, then that makes it that little bit less special...

So... List here any rare consoles of games (Or games in rare condition) which you think you are the only DP member to have.

I'll start by pointing to the console in my sig - Limited to only 666 worldwide, so I would be very surprised to EVER meet anyone else in the world who also has one...

That's kinda narrowing it down a lot....I don't have anything at all. The only thing I can think of that might not be a common owned video game item is a Gameboy Advance Display unit. When we installed the DS Display at bestbuy I took the gbasp display. I wish it still had the metroid fusion marquee in it instead of the dumb pokemon leaf green. Oh well.

I don't know of anyone else having Mario Kart 64 Collectable Trading Cards "Premire Edition". I really know nothing about them except they are supposed to have tips on them and i think they had to be special ordered.
But i picked up 18 packs and the display box they were in for 5-10 bucks.

Someone probably has some, but not that i know of.

If anyone can give me info about them PM me.

I've got a US Konami wireless SNES controller that I've never been able to confirm was even released! I even took it to CGE and put it in the museum...no hits at all.

I've also got a decent sized collection of rare Japanese print ads for Saturn, PC Engine, Famicom, Mega Drive, etc. They're virtually impossible to buy...I don't know anyone else that has all the ones I do.

Also I have a PS1 Blue Debug Unit...someone here probably has one of those too though

Ive got a pair of blue Debugs (different model #'s) as well as some genuine Alpha and Beta's of some Playstation games, some on official media, others on cd-r's but with some sort of business card or documentation to go with them.

At the moment I also appear to be the only one so far on the net with as big of a WD PlayStation variant collection as the one I have compiled(missing one disc art, and 3 inserts all for Alundra, other than that, ive got everything else known) and am the proud owner of the LAST Nall plushie that Vic Ireland had.

Sadly, I don't have any games that are especially rare to begin with, let alone something that no one else has. However, I do have a lot of unusual stuff that I bet it's safe to say that no one else here on Digital Press has. First thing that pops to mind is the one and only dating sim for N64, Getter Love. :P Other than that, I have a ton of Japanese gaming merchandise and soundtracks (some being promo stuff) that I bet no one else here has. My Star Ocean Perfect Sound Collection is quite rare. It commonly sells for over $100, and the value is only going up and up as it gets older.

I don't really have anything all that amazing. I guess if I had to choose, I would have to say either my sealed copies of castlevania and metal gear for nes, numorus complete R5 and R6 (such as panzer dragoon saga) and a complete top loader style nes.

I think I'm the only person on the planet with three copies of Interplanetary Voyage for the Odyssey. What's funny is I was only trying to get one, the other two came in lots that had something else I wanted.

Queen Of The Felines

a signed copy of the 3DO import "D" #89/100

Did you get that off of ebay a couple of years ago by any chance? If so, I think that used to be mine. :hmm:

I know for a fact I'm the only DP member with a boxed Atari 2600 NTSC Asterix. :D (Well, unless one of the guys who owns one at AtariAge posts here too.)

I also have a bunch of pretty cool deluxe press kits.

PAL Vandal Hearts II - Factory Sealed
PAL Paper Mario - Factory Sealed
PAL Space Channel 5 Part II - Factory Sealed

NTSC U RPG Maker - Factory Sealed
NTSC U Star Ocean II - Factory Sealed

I have other rare games, but don't really have bragging rights unless they are sealed.

PS: Sorry DP - Didn't know there was a similar thread like this. This one is slightly different though, as this is more of a "Brag what you have" kind of thread, and not limited to "One off's"

;)

though darth vader recently bought one i am fairly confident he and i are the only ones here to have the heartbeat personal trainer system with the outback joey cart.

i also have an inflatable mario that im sure noone else has. it is the stupidest thing around, but its licensed....and i have 3 of them.

i also have remote froggo brand NES controllers...anyone? (have three sets of these too)

just yesterday i got a lodge tech n64 controller. the type used in hotels...licensed product, but ive never seen one. its for playing the games on the hotel tvs, useless other than to look at.

pacman roller skates?

mario cheez whiz jar?

boxed 650 in 1, boxed 82 in 1 and boxed 700 in 1 NES multicarts?

i know someone else here has one(ive seen it in the room pics) but i have a controller tester for 2600..

pacman waterful?(press the button, get the ghosts into pacmans mouth)

SNES exertainment system? not the bike part(which i think is necessary for the unit to work), but the part that screws into the SNES. also have the sealed video on how to use the exertainment(or a promo vid?) thats kinda cool..

sealed n64 razor racing?

tak and the power of juju bobblehead?

think thats it...

oh yeah...and i have one of those mario cake pans...still nice with the paper insert. does anyone have the cookie cutters that go with it? i do.

i have a nintendo service center VHS tape that tells "techniques for surface mount technology. very cool 8-)

I have never seen another one or anything of the likes.

anyone have info? i sort of think it is along the rarity of a test cart, but nowhere near as desirable.

I also have |ster's copy of shadowgate that has a torn label that he drew a picture on and the instructions which he also signed :) bet no one has that.

Crush Crawfish
12-11-2004, 06:27 PM
I've got a Crush Crawfish figure. Not even kidding!!! and I got it at an anime convention, of all places. I don't think anyone else has that! :D It's a little SD figure, like something you'd find in a capsule machine. I also bought Zero, neon Tiger, Volt Catfish, Tunnel Rhino, Blast Hornet, and Toxic Seahorse.

Three bootleg number-in-1 Game Boy games
A framed picture of a ghost chasing Pac-Man (i dunno about it but whatever)
A figurine of Mario climbing a beanstalk. These were little figurines made for birthday cakes in the early 90's.
This (http://www.oafe.net/poe/art/pacman.jpg), except it's Ms. Pac-Man and it's a blue ghost.
Two Monster Rancher stuffed dolls, the eye critter and gollem.
The Japanese Pokemon Green Game Boy game

Chances are other people here have some of this stuff but who knows.

I don't have any really rare games (except Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel and Shining Force III) but, I do have a Nintendo (combination) keyboard & songbook, a Play-a-Tune Keyboard in the shape of Mario riding Yoshi featuring the theme song from "Mario Bros. 4" MIB, and a metal Mario Bros. trash can. I also bought a sealed copy of Kirby's Adventure last night on Ebay.(which I'm not sure if that would be counted as rare or not)

The rariest games I have are Neo Geo AES games...like US Metal Slug X, US World Heroes Perfect, US Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, US Samurai Shodown 4, JPN Shock Troopers 2 and soon to be a US Metal Slug 2. :D

I used to have the two Panasonic Video CD adapters for 3DO, as well as the memory unit. All boxed, with instructions. Traded those away and don't regret it.

I have a really neat Dig Dug pachislo machine. It has a nice video screen that plays while you use the machine. I also have a stack of around 100 disc betas/prototypes for various systems.

After reading through what everyone else has, I think I have nothing that compares to anyone. I do have some stuff that no one has paid the same amount for.

My pride, Dragon Warrior IV for $2. I have a Game Boy Pocket. I have the Captain Power plane and videos for the TV, something unusual and very fun.

I dont really have anything worth talking about. What I already mentioned is nothing compared to anyone else.

Oh, I have that rental version Warioworld for GameCube which is quite unique and no one else seemed to know anything about it's origins or rarity...

And I also have a rare transparent DreamCast controller which I am still unsure about... It's boxed as well!!!

It's similar to the Japanese / US coloured controllers, but mine actually has a blue squiggle on it rather than an orange one indicating it was originally for sale in one of th PAL regions...

Recently saw a transparent Lemon coloured one go for about £75 on eBay!!!

I am pretty sure that I am the only person here who has a Sega Megadrive Action Chair :D

It's a chair that you plug into the Megadrive to play driving games / flight sims. You tilt for the directions, and have a handle each side with two buttons on each - Start and A-button one side, B and C button the other.

With manual.

I posted my stuff already, but I remembered one more thing. It's a Sonic the Hedgehog ball. I'd say its about...9" to 12" in diameter, and it's shaped like Sonic, complete with back-spiney things, face, and feet, all rolled into one semi-round shape. I think I may have gotten it as a magazine drive prize when I was in like 3rd grade or something. Not sure. I used to call it the "Sonic Speed" ball LOL

IMO the artwork for the U.S. version of Gargoyle's Quest destroys it, but still, it's awesome to see the box all the same. GREAT GAME.

I really like the stuff you've got there.

Oh, and on the topic of Sonic balls...I've got some Sonic ball that I found recently at a yard sale that was apparently in a Happy Meal (or maybe the Burger King equivalent) in its package. Colors look a bit washed out, but maybe that's just how it was printed.

Every single one of my N64 and GameBoy games has it's original cellophane around it! That's gotta be somewhat rare, even if most the games aren't...

What I do is buy them factory sealed, and slit one end slightly to slide out the insides... Keeps the box in pristine condition! And we all know how delicate Nintendo boxes are!!!

I'd say that's gotta come second best to actually owning a factory sealed game! Semi-Sealed I would probably class them as...

I do the same with anything which comes in a box - Dvd's included. I may not have the biggest or rarest collection of stuff, but I bet the stuff I actulally do have is in the best condition ever!

I would also like to chat to anyone else who bought one of those five 1st anniversary PlayStation 2's... Part of me wishes I had bought the blue one or maybe the yellow one maybe, but the red onestill seems pretty damn cool!!!

There are a few things that I have that others probably also have, but I don't think too many do:

- Official DC maraccas (two)
- Super A'Can system with games
- Star Fox competition cart
- Super Nintendo lit hanging store sign
- Framed Jaguar large posters for Iron Soldier and Alien Vs. Predator
- Two Jaguar banners
- Lynx banner

There are also a few things that I know no one else has ;)

- DC game protos for games that are not yet released (but will be)
- DC game protos for Feet of Fury

I've got that one ;) It's nothing terribly rare, just a DJ copy (of which there are many of, especially from the 70s). I'm pretty sure that particular recording is from the Some Enchanted Evening LP. Good stuff, though. I have a collection of BOC records (LPs and 45s) that spans the early 70s up through Imaginos. Nice to hear there's another fan here!

I'm sure I posted in the other thread, but... what the hell, right?

- NES Airball (Unreleased, one of three)

- Outback Joey Genesis (Just the cart, sadly)

- Blockbuster Competition II Cart Genesis (Why the hell hasn't another one of these turned up?!)

- Genesis CHEATA cart (Art tool proto)

- Famicom Wideboy (Famicom dev board, lets you use GB games on Famicom, and on toploading NES with adapter)

- Nintendo Store Display Laserdisc-R (burned Laserdisc with 90 minutes of game footage and the cheesiest Gameboy ad EVER)

- 2 NOA Game Counseler's Handbooks (Normal binders full of handdrawn maps and what not the counselors used before they had a PC in front of them)

- Color Dreams Oddball Color/Music Test Proto (A wacky odd thing that plays a neat music track with a color test pattern on the screen that you can play with... no idea where this came from, and most likely the most one of a kind thing I own)

- Wally Bear and the No Gang Proto (Fairly early, somewhat incomplete, stage select, etc)

- Unused Label for Escape from Atlantis for the NES (Unreleased)

- 2 original art slides for 2 of the cards in the Topps NES cards set.

- Famicombox with 10 out of 15 carts (Famicom Hotel unit)

- NWC 1990 Grey #215

- Sealed Myriad 6 in 1

- Stadium Events NES Complete

... and I had a Racermate Challenge II cart, and it got lost somewhere between CGE museum breakdown and when I got home from CGE. Going to take a while, or a wad of dough, to get that back....

i used to also talk to the PR people who did segas marketing and they sent me this sonic folder that has a prizim look full of early dreamcast information.they were nice enough to also send to sports saturn games to me as well.

once the dreamcast launched they sent me this binder shaped sort of like a dreamcast with information on all the games and what not.

@portnoyd - sweet stuff man! The only complete Stadium Events I've seen for sale sold for $1500 on ebay IIRC.

I don't have much that's very rare or valuable, but I guess the most unique things in my collection would be:

boxed Family Fun Fitness mat w/Athletic World (the "series 1" label)

Cheetahmen II loose (the fact that it's loose makes it unique LOL)

Bible Adventures promo cart, plays differently than all subsequent versions (apparently a couple of thousand were released by Wisdom Tree to test the market for religious games, so it's not too rare)

4 or 5 Mortal Kombat Kits (promo stuff given with preorders of Mortal Kombat when it made its console debut, comes with a poster, sticker, tattoo, trading cards, sweepstakes form, pin)

My Red Alarm demo cart (VB) and Zellers boxes (2600) are kinda rare as well.

And I have the first 92 issues of Nintendo Power, mostly in minty shape.

Oh, and I too have one of those Mario Cheese Whiz jars!

I'm 90% sure that the local game store has that box up on display (it's red, says DC, and has some Japanese guy on it ). The guy who runs the store was big into Sega and imported lots of stuff during the Saturn's days. I'll see what he can tell me about it.

One of those was in the Acclaim auction, an item that Assembler bought - I have no idea what they had that one for, must've been a corporate gift or somethin'. But there you have it.

I have an APF1000 not in the box with 7 games in their boxes, other then that nothing that I would really consider rare.
