i think it is pretty stupid that the rest of the world cannot release their systems throughout the world at the same time. i feel bad for UK people on first release because they are either the only ones to get the system(ahem**SEGA**cough) or they are the last. Japan always gets them first(w/ some exceptions) and japan gets the coolest system colors and accessories(that we dont get here in the US) and in the US we usually get stuff in the middle but we dont have as many cool stuff as other countries...............WHY!?!?!?!?!!?!?!!?!!?!?

Because we have a president that says things like "Internets" and has a remarkable grasp on foreign diplomacy. No seriously, Japan's culture is located in the heart of beep beep, cute, overpackaged, robot, comic book, video game central. It seems that they are geared for getting the kookiest, first, and best that video games have to offer. We're not too far behind though and we have our own version of weird fun culture. Hey! we got the DS first. The last game cart that we got before them that I recall was Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the GBA.

Looks nice, but as I've said, unless the US gets some games I want to play, I don't see myself buying it.
But if I do buy it, I see myself carrying around a suitcase with my SP, DS and PSP because I can't live with just one. I'd need them all. (Hell, the GBA functionality -- Button placement -- on the DS is so horrible I end up playing GBA games on the poorly lit SP. Which I didn't realize was so poorly lit until the DS came out. Go figure.)
In the end, it comes down to games. And Sony just doesn't have enough franchises to make me like them.
