I have been given the great opportunity to write for a video game Website that is concentrating it's attentions on the next generation of consoles, and is currently tracking the Handheld market's opening race. Due to the atmosphere of my current Third Eye Perception? (http://iiiperception.blogspot.com) blog, you can see that my writing style consists of disappointments and wary views concerning the industry as a whole.
but may a ray of sunshine grace thy face.
Me, questioning Nintendo? Imagine that, and then imagine that it is true. I have been thoroughly blessed this day my friends. 20 Questions. That's what I am allowed. Now for the hard part...what do us gamers really want to know from the Big N? This, of course, is where you come in handy ;)
Feel free to list the questions you have. There are two questions that I will be asking, so that kinda boils it down to 18.
Gauranteed questions are, "Who is officially developing Mario baseball, considering that Camelot is no longer listed as a nintendo license developer" and "Sony has sealed a deal with NVidia to produce the Graphics chip contained within the PS3's shell, has Nintendo done anything similar with ATI to continue with production for the Gamecubes successor?"
Thanks for your time.
PS - I know there is a rumor that Namco is developing Mario Baseball...but I call "rubbish" on that rumot

"Nintendo" is not a person, who specifically are you interviewing? You don't want to ask questions of someone who doesn't know the answer.

Company Connections Department.
Licensee/Developer/Manufacturer information hogs.
EDIT : Not "In Person" conducted.
2nd Edit : I should have clarified. Questions regarding a Third Parties release dates/production/rumours wont fly. Questions regarding Miyamotos diet or what he dreams about...not a go.

Ask them if they would kindly sponsor Classic Gaming Expo in 2005. We were really close last year. Thanks.

Ask about their veiws concerning Classic games, primarilly the NES collecting community. Ive always felt the NES has a very broad adience, especially compared to other classic consoles. What do they think of their Classic Fans?
Are they aware of the huge market out their for their old games?
AND give them a heads up about CGE2k5, it would ROCK if they got into it somehow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Pardon the exclamtions :D

I planned to implement both of those into one question. Asking if they are aware of the large "classic fanfare" and if they are aware that they can drop a lot of 72 Pin adaptors at CGE if they Sponsor/Attend
;) Gotta let them know that if 72 Pin adaptors are sitting on a table in front of me....it's more compulsive for me than if I order online

Why do you hold up the "DS is a third teir" bullshit, and what are your thoughts on Gamecube being placed squarely in the third palce position of a three-tier console race?

I second the question of how they feel/what they are doing with their retro properties and the retro enthusiast.
More specifically, do they have anything in the works for say a Gamecube NES compilation disc? If not, they should. Lots of info, pictures, interviews w/ subtitles or dubbing for non-English speakers... kind of like Midway Arcade Treasures.
Even though I'm NEC and Hudson first, Nintendo holds a special place in my heart. LOL

I suggest that you don't ask them about the Gamecube's predecessor.
If or when Nintendo plans on implementing online play for there multiplayer games? IE Mario Kart DD, Mario Partys, Smash Brothers. Many fans would love to have the chance to throw banannas online.

-What can you tell us about Revolution?
-Will there be anything else for the Gamecube's modem/BBA?
-Does Nintendo have any plans to get any more third party developers for Gamecube?

Will we EVER see a true Nintendo IP console/handheld. I've heard rumors the DS can, but I don't believe it yet. And will we ever see a change in their "strickly offline" gaming policy.
Back in the dark ages of dial-up this was not feasible, but with todays wide access to broadband I don't see why they would stick to their outdated guns.
That one question would clear up a lot on if I think Nintendo came make it in the next "next generation" console world.

First off, good luck.
I won't be offering any questions because I don't care. Why? Because they're not going to answer anything juicy. Subjects that will be met with, "no comment" are as follows:
Anything to do with the Revolution or next Game Boy
Anything to do with online
Anything to do with Zelda
Anything to do with Mario
Anything to do with anything worthwhile
I've read dozens of these interviews - even on IGN, all they do is basically use it as a spot to try to pretend that nothing is wrong.
But yeah, good luck.

Aks them if Mario 128 is released on GC, will they have a "proper" Mario game available for the N5 launch. If they say no tell him to go to hell.
Than again the question will probably be answered with.......... where not sure which system were releasing it on.Were still trying out a few things with the game. LOL

Ask them if they're going to ever release the first 5 Fire Emblem games in America.
That would just be too awesome if they did.

This would be my question.
Why is the Gamecube in 3rd place in the current console race? What is being done to change that, and what changes are they going to make next time around?

This would be my question.

I think I can answer that, well I will anyway.
Q) Why is the Gamecube in 3rd place in the current console race?
A) Because it has nothing over it's competiors when it was released, Nintendo's 1st party games have gone down a notch in quality and most of all, there not giving what the major market wants. That is "cool", "adult", "mature" games.
Q) What is being done to change that
A) As far as I can see....nothing. Nintendo have learnt shit all this generation. There actually worse of than the prevois generation.
Q) What changes are they going to make next time around?
A) Well who knows? But personally I cant see them changing much, Im sure there still gonna release mario type games like theres no 2moro and not releae any violent games. But heh thats Nintendo, loyal, awesome.....stubborn and stupid. God this sounds like a Nintendo flame mail! From ME? @_@ I guess Im getting fed up wtith having an unpopular console, finding it hard to find games to rent/buy (I live in AUS), and having no-one to play multiplye GC games. Its sad really :(

My thoughts would be in the same vein as Flack. There isn't any reason I can think of for why they're seemingly settling for 3rd. :hmm:
Nintendo, you got the resources and tools... stop playing rope-a-dope and just use them damn it!

I disagree that their first party games have gone down in quality (see F-Zero and Metroid Prime in particular). Zelda didn't capture the market because, as you said, it's not what the market wants. They haven't targeted the demographic they need to capture.
Q) What is being done to change that
A) As far as I can see....nothing.
The DS, supposedly, followed by their next gen console and new titles like the next Zelda to help fill the gap. The DS has some problems, for sure, but I'm not about to hand out a final verdict as its library is hardly started. I will say that having Miyamoto work on a Japan-exclusive game (the Melee-alike 2D title) seems like badly allocating their talent, but...

Well, you guys had the plug pulled at least two years ago; those of us in the U.S. still get a fair amount of shelf space for GC games. I'd say you folks have an unusual situation to cope with.

Ask them the real important question.. Like when can we expect an arcade perfect port of Donkey Kong for example... preferably on a Nintendo Classic Arcade Collection compiliation of some sort. Hello... PRIORITIES  :D

Itoi said not too long ago that it was almost done for GBA. I don't see why they'd dump it for the DS, considering how much trouble his team had with 3d in the first place, and the fact it wouldn't use the touch screen for shit.
