Jittery color pot on heavy sixer

My heavy sixer is starting to have color problems. When I turn it on the color is initially fine. Eventually (could be 5 minutes, could be over an hour) the color goes all funky and flashes continuously. If I open it up and readjust the color pot, the color will be fine again for a while, but it's just a matter of time till the color goes psychadelic again. Does anyone know what's causing this? If it is simply a loose color pot, how would I go about tightening it?

Hmm. If someone could find the rating of that pot, you could try replacing it.

What if a wider range pot was used? One could have *finer* control.

Alright, I'll see if I can find out the rating. I've gotten so sick of opening up the case and taking it all apart just to readjust the color, that I've been leaving it open with all the components sprawled across the carpet when I'm playing.
