I don't really have a "best find" that stands out over any of my other favorite finds this year, so I'm just going to list my favorite finds. A couple of these are rare and some are hard to find, and some are games I was surprised to find so cheap.
SNES:
Dino City (loose) - $2.99
R6.
Earthbound (loose) - $4
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (loose) - $5.95
Mr. Do! (loose) - $1
Prehistorik Man (loose) - $4
R6.
Robotrek (loose) - $6
Spanky's Quest (loose) - $5
A personal grail. Only an R5, but it was high up on my want list for my SNES collection and took a few months to find locally.
Super Mario RPG (loose) - free
A friend of mine who knew I was looking for SMRPG found it for $5 and gave it to me :)
The Twisted Tales Of Spike McFang (loose) - $4.99
R6.
Zero The Kamikaze Squirrel (loose) - $5
R7.
Genesis:
Joshua: The Battle Of Jericho (loose) - 63 cents
R7 - found at Gamestop, where the price sticker was mismarked as "Cal Ripken Jr. Baseball" for 89 cents before the 30% off.
Outrun (loose) - $2.50
Rolo To The Rescue (loose) 99 cents
R6.
Virtua Racing (complete) - $2.50
In great shape. I wish someone hadn't cut the tab off the box though, but oh well.
Game Genie (complete) - $4.99
It's the "new smaller package" w/ Edition 3 code book. Worth noting because it's the only complete Genesis item I've ever found at a Gamecrazy.
N64:
Harvest Moon 64 (loose) - $15
Paper Mario (loose) - $20
Resident Evil 2 (complete) - $2.50
The box is a little beat up, but it's not often that I see complete non-sports N64 titles that cheap.
Playstation:
NASCAR '98 Collector's Edition (w/ everything except the pendant) - $1
R5.
Playstation 2:
Activision Anthology (new) - $9.99
Ico (complete) - $5
Gamecube:
Legend Of Zelda Collector's Edition (complete) - $19.99
Worth noting because I bought it before Gamestop jacked up used prices on it.
Metroid Prime (complete) - $10
Target exclusive cover variant w/ Target logo near upper right-hand corner of the front cover. Notes that there are coupons inside, which were used and/or discarded by the previous owner, so I don't know what they were for.
Game Boy Advance:
Metroid Zero Mission (loose) - $7.99

Super Street fighter 2 (no manual)- $10 Au
Brand new orange clear N64- $3 Au from Target.

i would say this lot for £25 was a great find
i then sold the SNES, and the dupe games to gamestation and got £60 off them so really the whole lot was free and i was given £35 to take it! hahahaha!

My best find, way early in the year, was without a doubt my sealed Genesis NFL 94 Gift Set.
It's all sealed, never been opened. You can slide off the outer sleeve and see everything sealed in compartments underneath. The outer sleeve has special NFL 94 decals on it. Inside is a Genny Model 2....the necessary peripherals and instruction manuals....a loose cart of Sonic #1....a boxed copy of NFL 94....and the very first issue of Sega Magazine. Not bad for $25 Canadian in a pawn shop. :D
I just happened to wander in at the right time. It could have been sold to someone who would rip it open and give it to their 5 yr old to destroy. Close call. LOL
Other than that, I've been lucky with very nice N64 completes throughout the year.

Just off the top of my head:

$10 - Fire N Ice, CIB mint, NES (flea)
free - Boxed Neo Geo AES w/controller (DP Wire contest - thanks Joe!)

$75 - another Keio Flying Squadron, like new (ebay)
$56 - King of Fighters 94 US AES / mint (ebay)
Honestly, my favorite score of the year will probably make most people gag at what I paid.
But I am still the most proud of it, for some reason, given its extreme rarity and the quality of the game. DRUM ROLL... :)

SamuraiSmurfette

Also:
Final Fantasy I.II Advance (JPN, before Dawn of Souls landed, 60.00)

Mh, I've found some nice NES games in the new easy cash shop around the corner where I live. Not something very rare but games I've really wanted like Lolo2 and 3, Goonies, Metroid and Adventure Island 2.
But the best buy was a used Saturn with one controller and the Sega Ralley game. The RGB-cable was missing and I had to order one over the internet, but I only had to pay about 12$ for the console, so it was still a good deal I think.

Not exactly on my top 50.

Hmm .. not too sure really. Probably a sealed Ninja Warriors for the Japanese Mega CD for $15.
Plus when I popped into CEX and found a monster stash of games for 50p apiece, including loads of Atari games, and three boxed copies of Clean Sweep for the Vectrex. These alone netted me approx £15 each.

My best find of the year was definitely the minty fresh complete 32X Spider-man Web of Fire I scored at the Goodwill.
It would have been a real nice addition to my collection if I was really into 32X collecting but I wanted a Gamecube more so I sold it and made enough to buy a new Gamecube.
The best part about it is that now my wife understands why I buy used games at thirft stores and she's much more open minded of my need to go thrifting for games. That is so much more valuable than the game.

Personal aquisition of the year was actually found by DarthVader the evening before CGE started when he called me up and asked if I wanted a Blue PlayStation. That took about 2 seconds to answer with a resounding yes. I've had other great finds including finding DP, but that was a collection setting find IMO.
