Hmm...somebody's husband died? Looks like it, seriously. :o
Whomever he was, he sort of collected stuff like I do/used to. Sealed systems...peripherals without the base unit...http://www.digitpress.com/forum/images/smiles/Llol.gif

Nice stuff...no doubt...but zero feeback...argh. I wouldnt chance buying anything from them. Too bad they didnt gain there feedback before they started selling...just so they have some trust. Some of there stuff may go for cheap...ya never know.

If a few items go high, there might be a "band-wagon" effect.. other bidders will gain confidence from the "presumed" confidence of high bidders.
The pictures I looked at all were taken with the same background.. so I personally think there is a good chance she is legit, but I guess that doesn't mean 100% that they weren't lifted from some collector's site.
Personally, I think she listed this stuff too late for Xmas 04... she should have done this 2 weeks ago.

That's some nice stuff. I'm saving some of those pictures as a referance for later.
BTW: What is that cart in the Vic 20 set? It's at the bottom of the middle row.

hmmm, could be a scam... maybe someone who collected those pictures from older auctions and wants to make tons of money then never use ebay again. But those are some nice auctions and I too do not buy from people with 0 feedback.

Yeah, could be a scam. I always contact the seller first on stuff like this and get a feel. If my gut says so, I give it a go. I've scored some good deals on stuff that people may be leary of for one reason or another.
Then again, maybe it's that psycho Chinese woman from Canada!!! Anybody remember that one? Tseng mon, soujeh. Nee si m si tang ying mon a? (sorry, I can't spell the stuff in the Latin alphabet) But in the end, I scored a good Duo from her.

well, we all started off at 0 on ebay. Some of the best deals are to be had with new ebay users because of people's lack of trust based on no feedback. Higher risk yes, but once you do your background work..ie..contact the seller, get an address, name, phone number. Call them even. Even post on the forums to get help from a member that may live close by the seller to make sure it's legit...etc., etc...it can be rewarding.

Lots of import stuff, lots of nib stuff. Not the sort of stuff you could acquire locally. You almost would half to of had some online dealings to amass that sort of collection. Why is a zero feedback seller listing?
The seller seems knowledgeable in what she's listing & all auctions were started at exactly the same time, looks like program (Mr. Lister or something) was used to post all of these. All pictures look like they were took by the same person, in same style. The seller most likely has all of these onhand, or has access to them. I don't believe they could have lifted the pics from other auctions or websites. The auctions look legit in that regard. And since most are NiB listings, they are all short & sweet.
So you have a seller with lots of NIB systems, many systems that can't be bought in the US, so lots were most likely acquired online, a seller that knows what's being sold & yet, no forms of online payments are accepted & the seller has zero references. Only the verbage that "these were part of my husbands personal collection" Maybe if there was a little background info on the hubby, I would feel different. I still wouldn't bid. Something's not right here.

very very good points.....that kinda seals the deal for me not to bid on any of this stuff...even if it is for real

man, i don't even know what half of these systems are.
btw that 'rat' is an opossum, hence the name: queen_of_the_opossums...heh, let's hope QOF doesn't see this thread.
i'd might buy something from somebody with 0 feedback, but nothing over $5, and certainly nothing like this. she should've just invested $100 and just bought a bunch of cheap stuff.
it also worries me just how good these auctions are, like she's listed before. if you've never used ebay before, how do you know about these listing programs? and if it was as simple as a friend telling here about such a program, wouldn't her friend be wise enough to tell her to generate some quick feedback first?

Anybody actually buy one of those? I could have swore that, looking at the sellers page, that some of what she was selling was actually dropped. It will be interesting to see how these sales turn out.

Well she now has 3 feedbacks to her name. Looks like she was the real deal after all, that or she inflated it.
