Some final games are infamous. People make a really big fuss about how a particular game is "The last one ever released"
But I hear they are still releasing games for the Dreamcast in Japan - I think Ikaruga came out after they announced the console officially dead...
Same with Jaguar games - I hear they were still making games for that a long time after people forgot about it...
So, what are the last, say, five games of any system? All regions (Ie, Saturn - NTSC J, NTSC U/C, and PAL)
Does being one of the last games mean they are any rarer? Take Paper Mario or Burning Rangers for example...

There is a small developer, I think they are based in Hawaii, that STILL produce titles for the Dreamcast. I've been wantin' to get Border Down so bad it actually hurts as I post this. I belive Border Down was released earlier this year, or perhaps late '03. Don't just look to the big guys when it comes to console releases... the small developers and homebrews are more than worthwhile. :D
EDIT: Thnx S1lence! I knew it was one or the other :)

Some people are developing Daikatana 2 for Dreamcast (USA), and yes it is licensed.
As for Japan, 2 more Dreamcast Games have release dates at the moment:
12.16 -> Chaos Field
01.27 -> Angel Wish
4 Games were released in November (all Drikore).
another 4 games do not have a release date yet:
-> L Shitaine!
-> Sentimental Prelude
-> Lien
-> Ring Age

I think the last official SMS game was Virtua Fighter Animation (Brazil, 1997), but new games show up in Tec-Toy's multi-game SMS units, so who knows, maybe there'll be a 2005 SMS release, giving the SMS a 20 year lifespan!

Last European Mega Drive games were FIFA '98 and Jurassic Park: The Lost World, both in '97.
Last world-wide Mega Drive games were Show do Milhao Vol 1 & 2, both released in Brazil in 2001.

Is that the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire-like game?

BTW, in case people thought that there were no more PSX games being released, EA has recently released FIFA Soccer 2005 and Madden 2005 and Sony will release MLB 2005 in March for the Playstation.

Sho' is. The title means 'The Million Show'. One of them was a pack-in for a while, and they seem easier to find than a few of the other TecToy exclusives.

Everyone reported that FIFA 2005 would be the laast NA/Europe PS1 game....

Never mind me. :embarrassed:
I'm as bad as Jaysen was earlier today when he posted that old Sega-related news from May 2003... Turns out that MLB 2005 was released in March 2004! :hmm: Shouldn't it have been called MLB 2004 instead?
Anyway, here's the link for your pleasure. http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/playstation/mlb2005/
Looks like FIFA Soccer 2005, released last Oct. 12, IS the final PSX game.

No, the EA Sports system has always been a year ahead. For example, this year was Madden 2005, even though it came out in August 2004. It's been like that ever since the SNES/Genesis days, over 10 years ago.
But Sega had their system the same way started a few years ago -- we got ESPN NFL 2K5 this year.
Don't worry, we all make mistakes. ;)
