I have noticed a few posts on these very forums about the lack of UK only game lists, and got thinking about it last night.
Would anyone be interested in starting one up.
Like the definative UK PAL release guide for all major machines? I know that the DP guide is pretty good, but by its own admission is more NTSC biased.
So anyway, I wrote a few ideas down and even made a mock Access database up which would be searchable and have screenshots and boxart etc.
I could do all the hard work (inputting the data) but would anyone be able to help out with the info?
Im thinking of info such as
Game Title
Manufacturer
Platform
Year Released
Format
Part Number (like the SLES numbers on the PSX games)
Barcode
Screenshots
Boxart
etc
Would be a big task, but I really think the collecting scene needs it.
Any thoughts?

sounds liek a great idea, we definately need a PAL NES list...
The DP SMS, Megadrive and SNES guides are pretty top notch thou
The one id love to see for PAL is Atari Lynx

There are some pal list but they include all pal releases, the pal release only lists is what i miss by the most of them,if anyone knows a good list let me know.
Mostly i use DP and the ones from NesHQ.

Hi Adam,
I was merely thinking of making a compilation of all the current lists, fully searchable and with boxart and screen shots where applicable.
Am also considering retro computer games to go into the list too (Already have every Eectron and Amiga game released)
It would just be good to have it all in one place, with the additional information where possible.

I already have most of the information for botht eh Electron and Amiga games, but there is nothing stopping the inclusion of Atari ST, C64, Spectrum, CPC, MSX etc over time.
Just don't know where to start?

If you're up for it, why not just add on to what we've got going here? There are about a dozen editors working on the PAL sections of our database, which also supports screenshots and box art.

Rather than start up a whole new list why not join us? :)

Why bother with UK-only lists? They would be the same as the PAL lists we've got here except missing a handful of games.

I agree with digitalpress, I prefer having one list at one place which covers it all. Maybe it would help if the non-us-games sections were divided into:
-European (or better pal) games
-Japanese games
-Brazilian games
-"Other countries games"
There are a lot of people collecting for excample European Master System games or Japanese NES games, but noone is collecting "non-us-games". In my oppinion this would make the guide better for collectors from outside the USA.
Just a thought...

I suggested the exact same thing in a different post a while back - this would be extremely useful, and shouldn't require *huge* changes to the database files.

@j_eits
i have suggested a PAL-only search function several times, but nothing seems to happen, it would be SO easy as the db has a PAL yes/no field...
