It's about the EA NFL deal. I'm suprised to see this as a poll on gamefaqs at all. Whats more interesting are the current poll results.

48 percent (over 11,000 people) voted "I don't care, I've never played a football game"

20 percent (about 5,000 people) voted "I don't know, competition is good for a company"

If you count up the other options, only 8 percent (about 2,000) of the 24,270 people that voted so far think its a good thing. Of course it's still early, and I'm betting alot of those votes are brits and Europeans who don't give a hoot about american football anyway. I'm interested at what the results will be later tonight.

I voted for Final Fantasy Football, the first of Square's sports-themed Final Fantasy spin-offs. Power up your players with Materia! Take a spin in the Goodyear Airship! Who needs real players when you've got Gilgamesh, Cait Sith, and a defensive line of Tonberries?

I would buy such a game. How sad.

I voted for Final Fantasy VII.

Well said. The level of fanboyism on that site is incredible

I'm not understanding you guys, you have valid points, but I don't know how it applies to that poll. I'll agree about the fanBoys though and they irk me a lot.

Come on DP (and andy :P ). GameFAQs isn't THAT bad...all the time...*sigh* why do I even bother to defend it?

It's not worth trying to defend it -- everyone here hates it. I use the site all the time for reviews, links to prices, and of course FAQ's. Submitted quite a few over there as well. And even some of the smaller, out of the way game forums can have good discussions. (example, Divi Dead) The polls are interesting as long as you keep in mind that about 2/3's of the people who vote on them are 18 or younger.

I go to GameFAQs nearly everyday too. :P I can fully understand people who think there are nothing but idiots there if you're only interested in US-released games, but I find that nothing beats GameFAQs for finding importers to talk to and English reviews and FAQs on Japanese games. Most dumb kids would never consider playing a game in Japanese, nevermind the fact that they lack the funds and know-how to import. Thus you're left with a considerably older and more intelligent group to talk to than the average GameFAQs user. :)

Since I write reviews there (and FAQs), I won Review of the Week/Month twice, and with my winnings, I got a brand new Tales of Destiny 2 FREE (and Shenmue, but that didn't go up in value). You can't beat that. :) If only I had known at the time that ToD2 would go up in value I would've spent some of my own cash and stocked up on 20 dollar copies from Amazon.com...

11 replies and only one ALMOST pertains to the subject of my post :eek 2: . It doesn't really bother me, but the subject of my thread wasn't "lets discuss how much gamefaqs sucks" ;) .

What was the intent of the post about anyway? That no one on Gamefaqs seemed to really care about the EA/NFL deal? To be honest, if I didn't play sports games, I probably wouldn't care about it either.
