Is this considered a "kids" game? I have been a huge fan of Zelda since the first one came out, I just never bought this one and I was thinking about picking it up, What do you think?

Fun game. Please don't let cell shaded graphics make you think a game is "kiddy".

A Lot of People considered it the simplest Zelda game, if that's what you are referring to. It gave me a few difficulties though, that had me pulling out my hair (I even came online to find the answer to one part) Wheras Ocarina of TIme didn't give me nearly as difficult a time (and the Water Temple? Peice of Cake in OoT).
So it really depends on how it is your mind works. I hope you are patient though, and enjoy these types of games, because the water aspect in this one is boring until you find out how to warp (IF you find out how to warp).

I personally think that it's the second best zelda game ever after LTTP. The game just takes everything that was good about OOT, and expands apond it.

How worthwhile the game will be depends all on your personal taste.
I personally didn't like the character or enemy models, the story was dull and boring, there wasn't enough dungeons, the difficulty level was pititfully easy, there were too many stupid fetch quest and such that were only there to artificially extend the game, sailing got old 5 minutes after I first did it, the ocean was a poor substitute for a true overworld, and having to constantly change wind direction with the wand and the resulting stupid unskipable animation quickly got old. And the lack of 16:9 support also was disappointing as were several of the statues being missable and forcing most to do a second play through if they really want to 100% the game without a strategy guide.
The graphics were about the only feature of the game I'd praise although I think the water could've been done a tad bit better. The level environments, the buildings, the dungeons, the changing sky, the weather effects, and such all looked amazing. Only visual blemishes are the character model themselves and that's more of an art direction issue than anything.
Ultimately, it doesn't compare to stuff like Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, or Links Awakening. But it's a solid 3D Zelda entry despite several flaws. It's very much worth experiencing even if it falls well short of the top entries in the series.

If you're such a "huge" Zelda fan, you should've been able to see past the "kiddy" graphics and seen it for it truely is... a magnificent game utilizing a unique art style to propel the story and gameplay.
In other words... BUY IT!

And if you're worried about it being too kiddy, then you need to grow up a little more. ;)

Yes, if you enjoy Zelda games you should play this. I really enjoyed it even though it was short/easy.

i think pretty much the only way a zelda game is going to be too kiddy is if you can beat it in an hour, or if its title is "Zelda: the alphabet quest"

it's designed for anybody, kids or adults. yeah...link looks like a kid...but the rest of the graphics are stunning! it's not OoT, but it is fun. the sailing gets old (even with warps), but the rest of the game is so good, you'll get over it. i'll say it again, the sailing gets old, but you'll get over it :) could've used 2-3 more dungeons as well.
plus, the game is like $15-20 now? if you own a gc, you owe this game at least a few hours...it has a few flaws but it is a great game.

.
So very true. It was just short enough that you noticed. 2 more dungeons and I would have left it happy.
Although everytime I beat a legend of zelda title, I feel like I genuinely saved the world. Like something had been accomplished.

The game was alright... but there are others I'd recommend more highly.

Well, you can't blow anyone's head off with a sniper rifle, if that's what you mean.
In all honesty, I tend to feel that ALL of the Zelda games are kiddie games. That's right, kiddie games. You play a kid(or in the case of OoT, a teen), you explore mystical lands, battle against less-than-realistic foes, and usually save a princess.
Zelda games are kiddie games for me, because they always bring out the kid in me, and I love it.
That may not be quite the same definition of "kiddie game" as is generally accepted around here, but it's just my view. I tend to view kiddie games as games that are playable by children, yes, but also able to be enjoyed by adults, because it brings out the kid in us. Now, I'm sure there are games like "Barbie's Adventure" or something like that, which are probably only able to be enjoyed by children due to their shallowness. Since I've already defined what a kiddie game is to me, I'm going to go ahead and file such games under the area labeled "Crap".
In closing, I'm sure by now you've probably already gotten the point myself, and many other people who've posted in this thread have put forward - a good game is a good game, and if you're going to get hung up on the fact that you're not playing a 20-something anti hero who can blow off heads with his AK-47, then all you're really doing is missing out on some very good games.

Considering I can't imagine children actually enjoying those games I'd say "crap" is the perfect description.
Edit: Oh right Zelda, I loved WindWaker. I even enjoyed searching out all the treasure maps and *gasp* sailing. Although I found the warp tune very early in the game. I find most people who hated the game were just bitter that it didn't look like OoT, the cell shading's actually very fluid in motion (I hated the first screen shots I saw) and the "new" art style lends it's self well to 2D titles like Four Swords and Minish Cap.

i played it back when it came out. i was the exact opposite, i LOVED the presentation, but the game just left me cold. it seemed a lot more "scripted" and situational than previous titles in the series.

This is my favorite-looking game of all time.
It was nice to see Link actually smile and laugh...
...and dance like a fool after he bested a boss.

To be perfectly honest, I was in that camp before actually playing the game. I saw the screenshots, and I hated it. Where's the dark, realistic Link we were all promised? Also, spending most of my time sailing around in some boat wasn't looking all too appealing either. But, it was Zelda, so I bought it anyway, and the game ended up winning me over in a big way.
That said, you're not going to find me registering any complaints now that Miyamoto actually is doing a dark realistic Zelda.

I'm not sure if by "presentation" you mean the graphics or the story sequences, but I have to say, I loved the story sequences. Especially near the end of the game. I felt Ganondorf just gave off this, for lack of a better word, awesome presence.
