I saw this in a supermarket the other day and it looked kind of interesting, but I didn't feel like spending $10 on it so I passed. I does come with the Arcade start up disc so maybe I'll get it enventually.

But anyone know if there is anything else in the mag that makes it worth getting?

I saw the same magazine you did, and I don't think that the Xbox Live Arcade disc will be rare because it's being mass-marketed in this way. Just an opinion.

Same price of OXM on Newstands... thats 100 bucks a year for a magazine... if it even looks remotely interesting just get a subscription. OXM is only 24.95, Xbox Live (same editors) should be the same price...

I wonder what will happen to OXM and Xbox Live Magazine come "Xenon" / "Xbox Next" / "Xbox 2"

subscribers don't get DVDs...at least with PSM, I'm sure OXM works the same way, isn't oxm going the way of the dodo with gmr?

Nope, you're thinking of Xbox Nation, unless something new just cropped up and I didn't hear about it.

For those who have the Arcade disc: I've read that you can play demos of the games. How long do these demos last?

Bought it the other day, and I think it is only one issue since it is written to leave it on stand until march 14th.

Beside the Xbox Arcade disk, not much stuff that you can't find anywhere else. Have a tutorial on how to run Live, a few reviews (Doom 3, Blakc Hawk Down and others) and there is a strat guide about Halo 2. They also talk about downloadable content. Like I said, nothing you haven't seen in OXM or XBN or online.

I get OXM by mail and it does iindeed come with the demo disc...though it's in a cardboard envelope rather than the nifty plastic case you find it in on the stands. IN fact, the latest issue also comes with that ol' AOL disc and it comes in a metal container so AOL's free disc comes in a better container than the disc you buy it for O_O At any rate, I get too many magazines as it is (even with the recent cancellations of GMR & XBN) so I'm not getting any others.

Depends on the game. You get around 1:30 for the Namco demos. The new Defender-clone gives you 6:00 I believe. Etc. etc.
