Last Thursday, I went to a local gameshop and got suckered into buying the owner's N-Gage QD package he put together.
I initially had zero interest in this system, but after seeing some of the newer games and reading how great the emulation was, my interest was seriously piqued. And his package seemed really nice.

Boxed NGage QD with everything / mint condition
extra 32 MB MMC card
belt holder/carrying thing
red replacement faceplate / extra buttons etc
Tony Hawk + Virtua Tennis
All for $150, including tax.

I also swung by EB and was lucky enough to get some more games at awesome prices.
Marcel Desally Soccer
Tomb Raider
Pandemonium
... for $1.99 each, and
Sonic N
The Sims : Bustin Out
... for $4.99. That's $17 for 5 brand new games! :)
I also went out and bought a 128MB MMC card.

But I was really sold on this thing when I connected it to my PC via bluetooth and installed EEMame. 1942, QBert, Time Pilots and Frogger all play beautifully, and I just started up a sweet game of Warsong (Genesis) using PicoDrive! installation was a snap and these games play great on this thing! Can't wait to get some NES stuff loaded up.

I have a question for you NGage freaks - anyone have any ideas where to find the newest games at low prices? I'm specifically interested in Requiem of Hell, Pocket Kingdom, Elder Scrolls: Shadowkey and Pathway to Glory, but these games are $34.99 everywhere. Anyplace have better prices than this?

I still haven't found any place that sells the newer Gage games for cheap. You'll probably have to just wait a couple of months. I hear Pocket Kingdom is totally worth the 34.99$ price tag though...

Edit:
And that was really a great deal you got. Considering I paid $200 for my QD (NEW) and just received THPS. I'm still wanting Pandemonium...cheap.

Pocket Kingdom is going to hold value for a bit, since Nokia is pushing it very very hard. Well, if it keeps generating the positive buzz it has been, that is.

which NES emulator are you planning to use?
i recommend the new one called vNes
YewNES is awfully slow, and vNes has sound!

Play.com has the N-Gage games cheap and with free delivery but they're at UK so the price is on GBP and the games are european.

Is getting it for ~$3 at EB too expensive? I don't even have an N-Gage and I have Pandemonium (as well as 8 other games...).

Does the sound on PicoDrive work? The emulation is fantastic, including the ability to set keys and rotate the screen but when I turn the sound up I get *static*

PS I love the N-Gage too. It gets a lot of hard knocks but I suspect that's mostly the fanboyism (or misinformed) talking. The games are PS1 quality, the video compression is great (I've got three Starcade episodes on mine) and the emulation is pretty good. No complaints here.

Sims: Bustin' Out is $5? Don't forget to pick up Bomberman for $5 either!

Picodrive sounds doesnt work, the latest version supports it, but its the occasional bleep as the MD is too powerful to emulate

I also remeber bring up the ngage a while back n gettin the usual "Ngage is a Taco" flaming.... dear me

i take it that its easy to put emulation on these things? most likely i would end up having to mail it off to someone here on DP to do it for me because im retarded.

I've heard the tacos have more features included and that the new version was stripped down.

I know this is off topic, but is there any chance someone here would sell me an N-Gage QD, I want one soooo badly.

If my EB carried N-Gage...

Radio? Radio? Radio sucks. And you can get MP3 progs for the QD. Granted they are mono sound but I don't mind. The screen and controls are way better on the QD, so that was the deal breaker for me.

Yeah, I would have picked up Bomberman for $5, had they had it.
They also had some newer games for $9.99, like Operation Shadow, but I heard that was really bad.

And the sound on PicoDrive is garbly... but with it turned off, I have Phantasy Star 2 and 4 and Blaster Master 2 playing beautifully. :)
