GTA: San Andreas Flying Limits

Does anyone know if there are any limits as to how far you can fly? And is there anything out there? I flew for a good 15 minutes and saw nothing but water, and my icon hit the edge of the map, but I kept going into nothingness, and the land never circled around.

I'm curious now because in either PSM or EGM, they were hinting at the possibility to visit other cities besideds SA. Can anyone confirm this?

you do get to go to liberty city, but you don't fly all the way there, it's more like you fly pretty far east and then through a ring

The section of Liberty City is on the map but it's too high to get to -- planes and copters will blow up after hitting a certain altitude. From what I've read, the LC section (you can get out of the Bistro on that mission) is like the "ghost city" in GTA3 -- it's not solid and will make you go through "blue hell" if you try and step on it.

As for limits to flying, there is none -- if you fly out far enough (like for 15-20 minutes) and then crash your plane, it'll trigger a glitch that puts gang territories in San Fierro and Las Venturas.
