I haven't but you should be brave! Half the time you find stuff like that is just powered by several aa size cells stuck together..... I learned more about electronics by messing with stuff, and some times it even worked afterwards ;)

cheaper and easier to buy another one off eBay I'd think...

the one i have is a brand new one i just wont charge
there all at least 6+ years old

just buy some rechargable AAs and use them in the nomads battery pack clip on. its what i took to doing when i communted with my nomad, i had one set always in the system and a second set always in the wall charger.

I'm not sure if you have them where you live, but Batteries Plus (a chain here in MO) will build just about any battery configuration for you if you bring in your old one. Labor is usually free.
