I need some proof as there is already a dispute about this in our database. I had it as released because I've seen the files floating around in Bittorrent. Yet, I have never seen the package personally.

Does anyone own it? Can someone scan in or photo their box?

Thanks in advance!

Don't know if a box scan would be enough, Joe - I know a guy with a complete box of Taito Memories, and that game was never released :).

Yeah but doesn't that say "NOT FOR RETAIL" on the cover? I've seen one like that.

That's interesting. I'd still like to know how a complete version of the game has appeared on the 'net. Is it a leak? A prototype? I guess for now we'll have to list it as a proto since the game clearly "exists" in some form.

Thanks for following up with them!

Jan,
I tried to order from there but apparently amazon.com Germany won't ship to the US (even though my ID and address were recognized by the system). Can I order through you or have it shipped to you?

This title has gotten bounced around more times than Pam Anderson's left breast.

From US to Rumor to Proto to Non-US and now back to Proto. It will stay there until someone can provide some solid proof it exists in card form.

I found this article (although its concerning the UK version) on Ngagegaming:
"Sega Rally N-Gage Release Postponed! 3/30/2004, by Jason

According to UK mobile-game retailer Allack, Sega Rally, the much ballyhooed racing game that Nokia hoped would increase sales of N-Gage, has been delayed indefinitely. No word from Sega yet as to why they would pull the plug at the 11th hour. Sega Rally was due to hit N-Gage on April 9, so we can safely assume that the title was fully ported over. Perhaps Nokia's upcoming announcements on April 14th will give us an idea as to what the heck is going on...

This does not bode well for Nokia and comes just days after the big-cheese said that more games will be coming to N-Gage this year, and they will help increase unit sales."

Some people are claiming they have it, although I think it is just the downloaded version. Damn the N-Gage and its small fanbase!!

Looks like sega rally got a release in Australia and ive heard "certain parts of asia/pacific", which is probably only Australia and New Zealand.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=56295&item=6361488999&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

And theres also an electronics store near me that has the game in stock in store. I'd buy it myself ($28 Au), but from all accounts its pretty awful so I'll hold off till its cheaper.

I've also seen this game for sale in Finland (although it is pretty hard to find), so it did get an European release too. If anyone is interested in a copy i can try to find one....

I've managed to find a copy of this game and of course I did some research...

After I've read here that the game was released in Finland, I've contacted a Finnish trading friend of mine. He tried to find the game in shops in Finland, but he couldn't. Than he managed to find the game in a Finnish web auction and got it for me and noticed that the game is an Australian version. He contacted the seller again and he told him that the game was won in an internet contest by a local Finnish telephone company called Sonera and that this game is not for sale in Finnland.

The story about this game is getting strange, isn't it? I think I'll get the game next week, I can make some pictures than.

Does Australian eBay have any on there perhaps? May be worth keeping an eye out, as the scan above shows the Australian rating system, therefore implying it was perhaps released there...

Heres something interesting- the Australian rating board already rated sega's last 2 unreleased (as of writing) n-gage games- Virtua Cop and Alien Front.

Virtua Cop rating (http://www.oflc.gov.au/content.html?n=44&p=34&sTitle=virtua+cop&record=192483)
and
Alien Front rating (http://www.oflc.gov.au/content.html?n=44&p=34&sTitle=alien+front&record=192578)

Both were rated around the same time (early march) as Sega rally, though only Sega Rally has appeared yet. Who knows, maybe AF and VC will get a release too- at least AF is pretty much complete and both have got ratings approval :-P

Not insanely related to Sega rally, but interesting none the less.

There is a listing for this game at Gamestop.com

Yet it is always back-ordered.

Just bought a sealed copy of Sega Rally off of eBay!!!

The guy was selling it with a BIN of only £19.99!!!

Either that, or first bid of only £9.99, but I didn't want to take the chance of it being snapped up, so I just simply went in with the BIN.

He even confirms that it's an Australian release only... Seems weird though - Why would a Finnish firm release a game only in Astralia and not America or the UK?

Unless it's due for release sometime in the future...

Do they have Ngage's in Japan? If so, did it get a Japanese release?

Anyway, as this is in no doubt one of the rarest releases, I thought i'd grab it while I could. I'll keep it sealed, so if it does get a release here, i'll just resell it or something. If not, i'm quids in really!!!

its good to know that this is import only...id like to work on n-gage eventually, and being a US edition only collector that makes one less game that i would have to struggle to find

Gemini-Phoenix
03-21-2005, 02:07 AM
I stick to only the UK editions as a rule (Even though there is not really any need to for the Ngage)

I bought Sega Rally simply because I could. It sits on it's own though! Lol! I don't let it touch any of the otehr Ngage games I have! LOL
