The possibility of Galaga on ColecoVision brings to mind an interesting question: what games would you have liked to have seen on a favorite older system, back in its time?
The only rules are:
1) The game must have existed during (or before!) the console's practical lifetime. So a ColecoVision would be up through 1987 or so, while the Atari 2600 could go as far as 1990.
2) There has to have been a reasonable possibilty of the game having appeared for the console, so Strider for the Atari 2600 is out (but not for the 7800), but not Klax, which in turn could not have appeared on the CV or 5200.

ColecoVision:

Tempest (or on the 5200).
Gauntlet.
Rally-X.
Lord of the Dungeon.
Dragonstomper.
Phaser Patrol!!
Pac-Man, Joust (completed), and Dig Dug.
Marvin's Maze.
Major Havoc.
Zektor.
Bosconian.
Space Odyssey.
Questron.
Moon Cresta.
Terra Cresta.
Do! Run Run.
Drol.

I always wanted a Zookeeper for any home system... I wonder if one would pop up. Other ones include:

Atari 2600 (or above)

Moon Cresta
Port Man (I think this could still be done.. any homebrewers want?) :)
Sky Kid
Space Invaders Part II (which is becoming a reality now of course on the Colecovision) ;)
The End
Rally-X
Lunar Lander
Bosconian :)

Nice topic here...
Let me see..

Atari 2600:
Xevious and Tempest finished...
Adventure 2
rally-X (but it would prove difficult to implement...)
galaga!!

ColecoVision:

Moon Patrol! Moon Patrol! (I can think about a really good port...) :D
Gyruss!!!!!!!!!! (a really good one, not that trash Parker released) (a few extra sound chips on the expansion port... eh!)
Xevious!!! (yes!!) (difficult but very, very interesting...)
Pole Position! (very difficult)
Commando.. (ever more difficult)
Galaga... hmmm....
Dracula (really! I still remember drolling over that screenshot back when I was 13) :-D
Tempest would be interesting..

Looks like Bosconian and Rally-X are two faves here... Interesting. I friend of mine keeps saying he would love to play Rally-X on the CV...
Bosconian would be mildly easy to port... Rally-X a little more complicated...

I could've sworn there was a Moon Patrol prototype rom floating around out there for the Colecovision...

Yep, there is a Moon Patrol hack called Matt Patrol. It is indeed impressive but the original Atari port would be a lot more interesting...
