So Thomas.

Any way we could convince you to post HERE? AtariAge is cool and all, but it's way cooler here. I get bashed around every time I post on AtariAge so I really don't want to comment on that forum.

In any event, nice to see you here! Hope you'll visit us from time to time. :)

You should be worring about getting a cherry first. :)

Any how, for the issue at hand. I don't have time to go posting to every message board around the internet, so I only go to one that has a nice selection of the things I like. I'd be nice to discuss the topic (perhaps repost your initial post from AA here) We would discuss it here, so I don't have to continually take out a new account at message boards at the moment...

You should contact a lawyer, as you've already civily and morally tried to get this person to stop by sending emails.

And while we're on the subject, DP is seeming like a place where people are coming to discuss their problems (see Battlezone if you have no idea what I'm talking about)

(edited to remove off topic spleen venting)

I wish you the best of luck with your situation.

well actually what tom was writing about is a pretty big deal, as far as the homebrew scene is concerned. the thread has been stretced out over RGVC, AA and now here. honestly its shame this whole thing couldnt have been resolved in a friendly, private manner. its sad to see randy lose the plot like that and shut down rather than make nice. randy made a lot of homebrew titles available for many years and it that way really helped grow the hoebrew scene. now it seems he dug himself a hole fighting joe grand (who makes PCBs for 2600, 5200) and atariage who started a boutique homebrew section of their own. i dont think any of the parties involved are are bad guys, i can personally vouch for joe grand being a stand up guy, really sad to see.

as for atariage vs. dp, everybody needs to just let that go, both sites do a great service to gamers in different and complimentary ways. and both sites have their share of bad apple posters but so what, its nothing you cant overlook to get to the rich discussions on both boards.

Um. I never said it was anybody "vs" anybody else. I just personally can't post there without getting run out of town like a common pygmy. I gave up trying. I'm sure they're mostly nice people! Just a few diehards that don't seem to want me around.

BTW I think Joe Grand is a stand-up guy too! He's a lot of fun to have around. I guess I'd better mosey over there and lurk in the thread to see what's up. Thanks for casting some light on the subject, CS.

Not to mention the Stella list.

It kind of shows just how big this really is.

Absolutely. That's why most of my games are hosted both places. ( Well, that and the fact that :/ Geocities :/ kept taking them off of my site there.)

I was meaning to bump this thread myself, but Thomas beat me to it. : )

I recommend that everyone go and at least scan that thread. It's rather lengthy, so if you don't want to read the whole thing at least read the posts by Alex (AtariAge). This is pretty big.

It's a somewhat shocking thread. Hopefully Randy will reconsider and open shop again. There were some games I kept putting off getting and now it's too late. I personally thought he was kinda flakey, having dealt with him via email in the past, however there can be no mistake that he did perform a great service. Now if only he had more respect for the individuals that make up this gaming community.

As far as the DP vs. AA. There are plenty of folk at AA that respect and like you Joe. Don't feel like you can't post there. I think you'll find a few regulars that would have your back. I can name 7 people without thinking that regularly post here and there almost daily and prolly more if I thought about it. That's alot more than the few (2-3)people I could name 6 months ago. It actually would be good if the Admins from each site would update the other's forum with "news" but what do I care?? I visit both sites cuz I'm a fart smeller.

Smart feller.

Not frequently. By now, I'm concentrating on the 2600 and programming alone and the special forums on AtariAge suit that just better.

And the option to reduce traffic by disabling the avatars is just great. ;)

Really? What's your ID on AtariAge? "digitalpress" too? I found the community over there always very friendly (with only a few exceptions).

I'm lurking around from time to time, but I hardly find interesting (for me!) threads in the forums.

I did read that whole thread (as of yesterday) but it's too much like work keeping a net presence on more than one board so I decided against posting over there.

I fully support the idea of a programmer of a hack having some moral say over his/her work, and as such I fully supported your moral right to ask Hozer to cease distributing your work.

I really respect and agree with your decision to keep lawyers out of it as well. It wouldn't have been worth it, and I think you've proved that you don't *need* lawyers for stuff like this (the community backed you immediately and that's all it takes).
