Well Rez wasn't released for the DC at least not in the US. I just did some reasearch and there is a Japanese version. I didn't realize that as I ignore the overseas releases.
As for a "backup" if you mean a bootleg copy that isn't permitted here. Purchasing a released Japanese copy or a prototype is.

Yes, there was a Euro release.. you may want to check at a couple of the import stores online (Tronix, The Rage, NCS, etc)... they may still have copies.
Also have to say, it's an awesome game :)
