View Full Version : Commodore Filing Cabinet
So they're renovating part of the office that I work at and I saw this sitting in with the old furniture that's getting replaced:

I had no idea Commodore made filing cabinets. Pretty crazy, eh? After a bit of research I found that Commodore used to have an office furniture plant in Canada (more info here (http://commodore.ca/history/company/torpet_c_25years/torpet_c_25years.htm) if you're interested).
I'm thinking about seeing if I can grab it since it's headed for the dumpster just because it's kind of cool to see the C= logo on there. :)

Very cool, I found a cool Commodore calculator today. I wonder if someone just glued that on there. It didn't look rivited. Either way very cool.

I tried peeling the label off and it's definitely not something that someone just slapped on there. That's what I thought at first too, that it was just a sticker or something but it's the real deal. You learn something new every day I suppose.

When I lived in Victoria, B.C last year, my girlfriend kept nagging me to get a filing cabinet for her junk. I refused---that was, until I found a very similar looking Commodore filing cabinet at a Value Village.
I had to leave it behind when I moved out though.. :(
Commodore still is producing quite a bit of Office stuff - the german WalMart was selling selling lots of those the last time I checked (which was a few years ago though )

Commodore made all kinds of things - telephones for example. Check this website for some more stuff :) http://www.commodore.ca/gallery/hardware/hardware.htm

Yes, I would be a programmer under homebrews!
:P
I have an atari calculator, it's kinda neat, especially for the dollar I paid for it.

That page is pretty neat. I had a chance to buy one of those C65 units when they were first released -- I should have taken the opportunity.
The C= filing cabinet is pretty awesome too. I would love to have one of those.... of course, I've considered getting a Commodore logo tattooed on my shoulder, so....

Commodore and Atari made lots of odds and ends. Calculators, phones and
other gadgets that they could slap their logo on to.
