I saw this game at Toys R Us the other night. Empire released it with a port of the original version and what seems to be a remake of the first game. As far as I know, the second Bubble Bobble isn't on the cart.

Has anybody else played it? Is it worth getting?

I've never actually played Bubble Bobble before, so I was wondering what the NES enthusiasts think of the port.

If you like Bubble Bobble, then I say "yes". I bought it and enjoyed it thoroughly but it does get a bit old after a while.

I love it, but I love Bubble Bobble. Unfortunately, you need two cartridges to play more than 12 levels with 2P simultaneous. The updated version is nice, but the classic game is the real draw. It is well worth it for the price.

I also like it a lot. Only bad part about it is you have to shrink the screen to see the entire level, but it's easy enough to "zoom" in and out.

My only problem with Bubble Bobble is Round 57.

I have it and all I ask is clarification.

What LEVEL LAYOUT does it use? Is it the original Arcade level layout? (PSX/Saturn/Arcade) Is it the NES layout? (A few different levels than the arcade.) Is it (Doubtfully) the SMS version? (200 levels.) Is it an all new layout configuration?

All I wanna know!

I've played it. I like how you can save your game (thank god) but that's really it, just a direct port otherwise. And the New game just has some improved graphics, with some skinny, starving looking Bub and Bobs. x_x

Direct port of which game? There are at least 3 or 4 different configurations!

Well, it's definitely NOT the SMS version. Could you be more specific as to the differences between the NES and other versions?

I *think* it is a port of the arcade game. That would make the most sense.

Well, I just assume it's the NES version but I could be wrong :embarrassed:

I wish someone would make a nice site detailing all the different versions of BB from beginning to end complete with screens of each level. I'd love to see them all side by side.

I guess I could do it myself with an emulator and a level skip code.
