1. It was going to be a 16 chapter story. With the first chapter being the first game. Chapters 2,3, and 4 being the second game. There is an outline I have seen somewhere on the web . . . look around.
As a side note . . . the first two games were developed together. They were initially intended as one game, but were broken in two to allow further development. Shenmue started as a Saturn game actually . . . known as the Berkley Project.
2. The point of the online version is to walk around and beat the crap out of strangers from all over the world . . . as far as I can tell.
3. The third game is not confirmed. Maybe someday when Sega gets back on it's feet a bit more . . . we will see it continue.
4. I don't know, but that sounds interesting . . . I will have to look that up on the web.

The point in the online one is liek the point of most MMORPG's im guessing.... Nothing!
I played Shenmue 0, voice acting, rake leafs, play arcade games. That is it. It is a nice fan game but it is pretty bad.

Actually, I played through the first disc of the first game and if I have a gazillion extra hours in life I'd play it through. Ah, well.

Yeah. It was. However, it didn't perform as well as expected financially (really high overhead) and they chopped it down to an expected 5 games, and then to a question of whether part 3 will ever be released. Sazuki has said that it's his life work to complete the saga, somewhere, somehow, but last I checked, things weren't looking good for the franchise... This condition is owed largely in part to...
