I can only say "Jesus fucking christ" (Excuse the use of expletives there - It was well in context!)

Well, that's this thread done with, cos ain't nobody gonna beat that!

All I asked for was the discontinued Lego Star Wars At At walker, so that's all I got! My parents drove halfway up the country (Uk) to obtain it, as they are very scarce now seeing as they have been taken off all shelves everywhere!

They were lucky to track one down, but had to go on a mini pilgrimmage to get it for me.

I am thanking them by cooking their christmas dinner for them!

It isn't as lame as it sounds (Well, I AM 23!!!) - It retails at 90 quid, yet recent ones on eBay have finished in the region of £130+

It is an investment for the future more than anything - Being one of Lego's biggest models (Third biggest I believe) it will surely maintain it's value, or perhaps increase due to demand by collectors!

Plus it will look damn cool on my desk when it's finished!

Not a bad haul at all. I think I'll use the Xmas money from my aunts to get Paper Mario 2 tomorrow.

From my parents:

Xbox - Project Gotham Racing 2 (Dad got this for free from his directv nfl ticket)
PS2 - Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne w/ book
Nintendo DS system with Super Mario 64DS

Then from best buy, my manager gave me two factory sealed snes games I had said I wanted that some cops returned as stolen evidence from 11 years ago.

Got a couple non gaming gifts, some nice t shirts (ac/dc, ozzy), new jeans and a miniature fridge for my den. Enjoyed this christmas immensly. Merry Christmas to the rest of you, hope you enjoy the holiday.

I really didn't get anything game related from my relation other than two Hot Topic T-Shirts: One is red with white lettering and a NES controller outline (also in white) that says "Back in the day" in a digital calculator font. The second is blue with a NES deck on it that says "Classically Trained".

The rest was:

-a Ronco Showtime Deluxe Rotisserie

-80's style black octagonal dinner setting for four (plates, smaller plates, bowls and mugs)

-Firefly DVD set

-holiday plates and towels from the VP from work

-box of meats and cheeses

-cash

Queen of Felines took care of the gaming side with the Secret Santa gift (see other thread).

All in all, it was decent and fun.

I don't have a digital camera, so a list will have to do.

I got two games:

-Burnout 3 (PS2) from my mom. :D
I've wanted to check this out for some time. :D
(And if I didn't have to be at work in a couple hours, I would)
-Maximo: Ghosts To Glory (PS2, non-GH) from a friend.
It doesn't have a manual, but hopefully Game Recyclery (http://www.gamerecyclery.com)
or someone on DP will have one that needs a home.*

Other stuff:

-DVDs - School Of Rock, Fahrenheit 9/11, and Napoleon Dynamite. :D
-$10.00 Wal-Mart gift card
-Strong Sad t-shirt
-18 capacity DVD Rack
-$5.00 cash
-Sweatshirt
-Umbrella
-dreamcatcher keychain
-A deck of cards
-A 3-pack of blank 60 minute cassette tapes
(this is the odd present of the year, but I'm sure I'll find a use for these)
-A LOT of candy in my stocking. LOL

All in all I got some pretty nice stuff. I'm happy. :)

*And should anybody reading this have a spare Maximo: Ghosts To Glory manual, send me a PM.

Well my stepmom surprised me tonight with the following:

A 1970's Fireball pinball machine. I have to go pick it up so I don't have pics yet. But here's some pics of another machine to give you an idea on what it looks like:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13725&item=6139407193&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

The machine I'm getting needs some internal work done on it. Mostly wiring and bulb replacement. But it is currently playable. I believe this is the very first pinball machine that has the center spinner in it that shots the ball in random directions when it hits it.

I FINALLY got box 2 of the x68K lot that's from August 2003, at the latest (still not feeling good as I've been very tardy with my shipments myself)!

Nothing else video-game related. Ever since the N64/PSX days I've bought all my game stuff.

Aussie2B
12-25-2004, 10:29 PM
Since I'm getting older and I don't live near my family anymore, I don't get gaming stuff from them, and I rarely get anything but cash. So far I got:

$300
Some socks (including a nice pair of wool socks, which I asked for)
A really well-fitting pair of Gap jeans (not a fan of the Gap, but they do have great jeans)
Leather boots by Skechers
A warm robe
A shirt that says "Sweet and Delicious" o_O
The latest U2 CD
A Get Fuzzy day calendar
Tons of chocolates and other sweets

And uh... I think that's it for now. o_O I'm sure I have more money and cards coming, and my boyfriend is late with his gifts like always. :P I'll likely get gaming-related stuff from him, but I doubt I'll get any actual games. I think he's a little bitter that I didn't play Tales of Symphonia much after he got it for my birthday. I love it and I was very happy to get it, but I just didn't have the time for it. Usually I play the games he gets me right away, but sometimes I don't have the time or motivation to start a long RPG. Anyway, he knows I'm drowning in games that I haven't even played yet, so he's convinced that if he gets me games I won't play them. :P

maxlords
12-25-2004, 10:46 PM

sweats (needed em...but didn't WANT em...)
Crusade - The Complete Series DVD set
Angel Season 2 DVD set
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 (XBox)
A set of levels (handy)
Assorted unhealthy junk food treats

I still have one or two more things coming from a friend...insane stuff too...apparently he's sending me Rakugaki Showtime for the PSX! @_@ SOOOOO Jazzed about that. Compared to some of the things people got here it's not a lot, but man I was happy this year for the first time in a while :)

My wife got Smallville Season 3, Spider-man 2, and Harry Potter 3 on DVD too...I'll be watching all of those as well! lol

im not a big fan of xmas to begin with, but i got some good stuff.

tivo 80 hours
a combination record/tape/cd player(with stand)
star wars dvds
last of the mohicans from 1902(inside the cover says my great grandmothers name, 12/25/02, which looks funny, because that was also 2 years ago)
so i married and axe murderer dvd
some other minor stuff...

the only game related thing i got was a thing to hang on my game room door with pikmin cut out of felt below an embroidered "TOUCH NOT LEST YE BE TOUCHED" pretty cool.

but im still quite angry(and have actually left the house) because my girlfriend got drunk, passed out on my living room floor and would not get up, then pissed on my carpet. when i kicked her(lightly, though i didnt want it to be) she said "its only pee"
enraging.

Ugh, everything this year was strictly practical from my family. I shit you not...

From my parents:
- a desk chair
- five pairs of pants
- two paris of shoes
- the "we're your parents" pack: random food, a swiffer wet jet, winshield washer fluid, new wiper blades, TOILET PAPER, some tea, other random-ness of the same order.

From my much older sisters:
- $25 Tops (grocery) gift card
- $10 Tops (grocery) gift card
- $10 Speedway (gas station) gift card

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed. Did get a couple of interesting things from my friends though:

http://www.textamerica.com/user.images.x/38/IMG_408238/_1226/T40412261227341.jpg

Friend #1: a bottle of Asbach Uralt german brandy
Friend #2: a bottle of Eagle Rare Single Barrel bourbon and a stinaless steel flask.

Apprently my friends somehow acquired the misconception that I am an alcoholic. Was glad for the bourbon though, as it is EXCELLENT and I'm a big bourbon fan. But the best part of this gift was the flask. It's impossible to read in the pictures, but it has an inscription. Here's the best shot I could get of it.

http://www.textamerica.com/user.images.x/38/IMG_408238/_1226/T40412261229011.jpg

Anyone figure out what that says? Yep, it reads "w4t3r 5uxx0rz". 8-)

I love my friends.

not particularly at moment.. possibly never, it needs a new control panel because the buttons are layed out funky, new buttons, new competition sticks, somebody has to teach me how to adjust the monitor (needs brightening) they told my mom it was a 4 slot, i pop it open... shitty MVF-1Z board in it (1 slot incompatible with newer games) it needs all new side art and marquees and layouts... itll cost alot if i plan to fix it up, the biggest problem im having right now with it is getting the freaking control panel to close after i opened it.... it wont!!!!!

i'd kill for one of those test ps2's.

check your pm's assembler!

You'd be better off just talking to him on his own actual site, seeing as he's not here much.

If by not much you mean once a day, I'm confused.

My bad. I just thought you'd be easier to contact threw your own site.

How do you wrap a set of ladders???

My guess is that you tie one of those big ribbons around them like the ones you see in car ads. LOL

Ok...due to travelling over the holidays, I really just opened up my Christmas presents last night. I'm very grateful for everything, but yknow, even without this stuff I'd have been fine just with cards and being around family. Not to say I don't mind of course.. it's just that at this age like a lot of us eventually get, I'm pretty much beyond expecting "gifts". Heck I'd be happy with nothing and some good times, good friends and family, and hanging out. Yes.. I must be old. x_x LOL

It's all appreciated though.. not like I can stop others anyway from giving stuff no matter what I say :P Anyway, here's the loot: I especially like the all-in-ones like the paddles and Space Invaders (which I'll probably never open) because they're nice cheap things I wouldn't mind having but would never have bought for myself. i.e. the perfect christmas gift for others to get me. I'm looking forward to checking out the X-Arcade although I think it's way too pricey. And the Star Wars DVD's.. always nice having the originals.. *cough* ;) A couple duplicate games I already have like Gradius V etc. round it out (don't tell them though) :P

So it's a little late, but MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! :)
