Of course, don't just list your favorite games. Try and pretend that you're a Nintendo exec. Which 20 games would sell the most units? Oh, and pretend that any NES games are up for grabs, not just Nintendo-developed ones.

1. Metroid
2. The Legend of Zelda
3. Castlevania
4. Kid Icarus
5. Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt
6. Super Mario Bros. 2
7. Super Mario Bros. 3
8. Mike Tyson's Punch Out!!!
9. Rad Racer
10. R.C. Pro-Am
11. Donkey Kong Classics
12. Super Spike V'Ball/Nintendo World Cup
13. Bad News Baseball
14. Bases Loaded 2
15. Summer Games
16. Skate or Die
17. Tecmo Super Bowl
18. Excitebike
19. Kung Fu
20. Gradius

Tell me what to add, or what to take out.

You don't have Dragon Warrior or Final fantasy?? Must have's IMHO, but this will never happen, NOJ/NOA make too much money off their compilations to do this.

Any NES-best-of list is incomplete without RIVER CITY RANSOM.

I'm glad to see Tecmo Super Bowl on the list and its my favorite game. However, I think EA would have something to say about even a rerelease of an NFL game.

I wouldn't. I'd keep selling the individual games for $20 a pop, and make sure to pick garbage like Pac-Man and Bomberman. Yay profit.

Oh, and your list has grossly overlooked Tetris and Dr. Mario. Heh.

Without River City Ransom it would sell a lot less :D

Anyways, this would be my list:

1-Super Mario Bros
2-Super Mario Bros 2
3-Super Mario Bros 3
4- Mike Tyson´s Punch Out
5-Contra
6-Metroid
7-Megaman 2/Megaman 3
8-Tecmo Super Bowl/Nintendo World Cup (the first for americans, the second for europeans/japanese)
9-River City Ransom
10-Super Dodgeball
11-Castlevania 2
12-Castlevania 1/Castlevania 3
13-Legend of Zelda
14-Legend of Zelda 2/ Final Fantasy
15-Donkey Kong Classics
16-Ninja Gaiden 1/Ninja Gaiden 2
17-Bubble Bobble
18-Tetris
19-Kirby´s Adventure
20-Bionic Commando

It´s a very difficult thing to do. There are a lot of games not included (Kid Icarus, Blades of Steel or Ice Hockey, Dragon Warrior, Dr Mario, Marble Madness).

Why do we need a NES Flashback when there are plenty of neglected orphan NES systems out there looking for a home?

You could repair the "blinking" problem and most NESs will work.

Why then are famiclones sold in malls across America? People don't want to spend the time and effort to repair an old system when they can buy a new one and all their favorite games for just a little bit more.

Hmmmm, ok. Here are the ones I "think" would sell the most units:

1. Super Mario Bros
2. Super Mario Bros 2
3. Super Mario Bros 3
4. Legend of Zelda
5. Adventures of Link
6. Metroid
7. Castlevania
8. Castlevania 3 : Dracula'a Curse
9. Tecmo Super Bowl
10. Mega Man 2
11. Ninja Gaiden 2
12. Mike Tyson's Punch Out
13. Excite Bike
14. Kid Icarus
15. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 :the Arcade Game
16. Final Fantasy
17. River City Ransom
18. Dr. Mario
19. Super Dodge ball
20. Crystalis (I'm not sure if this game would sell units, but it is my favorite game, and one of the best on the NES)

I think these games would help sell the best because these games are the ones that my friends who don't collect video games or play old school games all that often, always want to play. SMB 3, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, and Tecmo Super Bowl are the ones that usually get the most attention.
