*RARE* Demo Disk....

I was just wondering what are some of the rarest demo disk and about how much are the worth (Looking at the stack of demo disk on the shelf). I really dont know where to go about looking for the rarity for them!! :D

I'm not really that much into demo-disc collecting, but the Resident Evil Code Veronica Dreamcast Demo (PAL) is very hard to find. I have only seen it on dchistory, and NEVER for sale.

After finding out there are 3 Pizza Hut demos i think one if not all of them must be relatively hard to find.
I have a Downhill Domination demo. I only know of one other person having it.(Many probably do though i got it from Sony)
I think the ones that use to come pack in with Playstations might be. There were over 7 of them as far as i know.
Then differenet ones were packaged in with PSOnes aswell.

The rarest PSX demo is probably the NBA 2Ball demo - only one member of this board has come across it thus far, and I've yet to see it sell on ebay.

I'd say the Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disc will be extremely rare in the future.

Does anyone have a list of all the demo discs put out for games that were never released? I could usually care less about demos, but I wouldn't mind collecting these discs. The only one I can think of is the Titan AE demo for PS1. Are there any others?

not a demo but Dragon's Dream for Saturn was mailed out as I have one apparently... being fist online only multiuser RPG you can't play it nowadays...

and there was few demo disc by TechSaturn that contained early build of few unreleased games... I've been searching those disc myself...

and from memory one of OXMB demo disc has Lamborgini demo on it...

PlayStation related:

- Two of the US OPM discs had playable demos of Macross 2 that never surfaced.

- Titan A. E. Demo, no game.

- The Psygnosis '98 Demo Catalogue Features a PSX version fo Global Domination (box pic only) that was never released.

I would have thought demo discs which have demo's of rare games would be rather hard to find / sought after... Demo's or Kula World, Tombi / Tombi II, Suikoden, Vandal Hearts Etc...

Pokemon Colosseum does have a bonus disc. I think it came with a pre-order. I found one at EB about 2 weeks ago and bought it, on the disc it has:

-Pokemon Colosseum game trailer
-Jirachi Wish Maker movie trailer
-Jirachi download for Ruby/Sapphire

Also back on the PS front of Demo's. Another demo on an Underground disc was a copy of Metal Slug (not Slug X) that never made it stateside.

The Pokemon Box was sold through the Pokemon Center in NYC and is atill available online at www.pokemoncenter.com. That's not to say that is will most likely be a rarer GCN item, but there are a lot more then a few thousand out there.

The japanese version of t he pokemon collosseum bonus disk is pretty rare. They released 2 versions. One was given away when you preordered pokemon collosseum from a retail shop, the other was only given away to those who preordred from the pokemon centre in japan.

This is the pokemon centre version, The japanese disk allows you to download serebii into your game instead of jiirachi like the us version.


Pacman vs is pretty hard to get as well. In japan there were only 2 ways to get the disk. It was inside copies of r racing evolution or from club nintendo's pacman vs campaign. The club nintendo version comes with a full colour manual & card sleeve for the disk.

The japanese zelda collection is getting rarer by the day, in the us you lucky folks had multiple ways to get this disk but in japan the only way you could get it was through club nintendo. It's quite different from the us version firstly it comes in a double disk box so you can keep the first zelda bonus disk in it, also the manual is in full colour instead of black & white.

There was a demo disc for Gamecube version of Soul Calibur 2. I've only seen it twice, so it's probably rare.

These shipped to retailers as a set of three, to be put in the store's interactives. There was one of each for GCN, PS2, and Xbox. I also got the PS2 one, but someone else snagged the Xbox one.

I'm betting on the recent PS2 demo disk with the Viewtiful Joe 2 save glitch to become tough to find.

People seem to be scooping these up only to send back to Sony in exchange for one of the free games that they're offering.

I don't know of many other people owning the Amplitude demo that was sold with the POD cd.
I do know that there are tons of them floating around though... or so i hear.

I thought that was actually on the first PlayStation system box... not on a demo.

Stu's right; Madden 96, Razorwing, and Boxing for PlayStation were all featured on the launch box artwork, but never released. There might be a video demo of Madden on one of the early demo discs. I'll take a look and see if I can find anything.

Someone mentioned the Downhill Domination demo disc for PS2...I've got one of those, but have never spotted another.

Does anyone have a Sphinx and the Shadow of Set demo (besides PapaStu :))? It's for PS2 and the title of the game was later changed to Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. Might this have an effect on the rarity value later on?
