I only leveled the WAR so I could lvl my THF. You know why I leveled my THF.
Advanced job? I dont need no stinkin' advanced job. I bought the game to play as BLM.

Never got the game, been playing WoW on Kilrogg as an Undead Priest for a few hours.. fun MMO
It's been out long enough that I wonder what the final verdict on the game is.. Maybe I'll start a thread asking that..

Oh and btw, people are really nice on this game. I didnt have any gil and a person gave me 5000 for no reason. I also got a sword for nothing. I will say that this is probably my most expensive game: 100 bucks for the game and hdd, 12.95 a month for the account, 150 for the ps2(if you really want to cout that), 20 bucks for the usb keyboard, 10 for the ps2 controller extension and 30 for the USB extension. But I will say that the game is really fun and it is the only MMOPG that I will play.

Own it, don't play. It's the only Final Fantasy game I can say (with little doubt) I'll never play. No monthly fee payments from me.

Well, if you want to switch to Unicorn while your level is low (we can get you back up to 5 in a half hour easily), let Achika or I know. :D We can help you out nicely.

I'm without internet since I just moved cross country, but I'll hopefully be back on before the week is out (posting this from work).
Port will need to buy a world pass, and he can just PM it to you. You'll have to delete your current character, create a new one and request the world (Unicorn) and enter the # he gives you. Our ingame names are the same as these ones on DP, so it will be easy for you to find us.

I started playing in early Dec. and I'm completely in love with the game.
Right now I'm playing WHM lvl 16, and I have RDM 20/BLM4/WAR13
I saw a Lady Jaye online in Midgarsormr yesterday, i wonder if it was the same nice Canadian lady from here ...

I really WANTED to play FFXI and was very excited to find it on sale at Target for $70.00 new. Unfortunately I'm using a Korean PS2 and network adaptor which was modded to play US Games. The hard drive is invisible to it. :(
This means that I need to find a first gen PS2 (with a network adaptor) that can use the hard drive, soon.
Does anyone know how long this game is expected to stay online? I'm terrified of a PSO/DC-effect taking place before I even get to play it.

Just get the PC version -- it's better then the PS2 one, you can play the new expansion that just came out for it, and you don't need a high end system. You can even use a gamepad controller.
Yep....been playing since the day the game launched in NA. Quit in July....erased character (ouch)....not enough time.
Made a new character at 5 am on Christmas day.
Scratch....Hume RDM/WHM....lvl 18/13....Bismarck server-San D'Oria. On every night from about 7:30 EST. Send a tell.

Y'know, I really considered that, but the demo/test that Square has for download didn't run on my two year old laptop. Well, it ran, but the framerate was low and NONE of the textures mapped to the polygons. (Lots of little albino things running around, very jerkily) I'm figuring it would actually be cheaper for me to go out and buy a used Playstation than it would be to buy a new PC/Videocard setup. (If I didn't have a laptop, I'd just upgrade my videocard). My system (the laptop) only has 256 MB RAM, a 1.6 Ghz P4 with an ATI 7500 (I think) and based on the demo I just don't think it can handle it. That being said I guess I just need to hear from more people who love the game to gush about it enough to so I feel compelled to acquire the hardware by any means necessary.

No, no! It's a GREAT gaming machine! I can play lots and lots of games on it. Just not really anything that's come out in, oh, the last 18 months.
Okay, so it does suck . . .
:bawling: (no, I'm not *really* crying, I'm just being dramatic.)
