That, sir, is an import collection to die for. I don't even collect Saturn, and I'm drooling. Erm...do be sure to visit our import games forum here at DP, I have a feeling you'll fit right in there, if you haven't already found it. :D

if you were/are Saturn otaku and had lived in Japan when it was still active system you'd collected this much or more... and have relatives in Japan who can buy things for you would be plus... :)
At once point I stopp'd collecting but then when missus got me Xbox it ignited my passion for collecting obscure items... and that's why I never got into PS2 and only started PS...

I know some of these are valuable nowadays but unless I have duplicate I don't sell my collection - well that and IF I need some serious cash... :D

do check out my FS thread where I posted few items for sale as well as eBay link there...

Very cool pics.

I listed it once on eBay to see what happen and they pull it down as it's against the rule... hmm since when light gun is against rule for firearms... it's not even phaser gun for christ... :p

it's now in my collection for occasional play since it's too heavy for every day use... cool yes! but quite impractical really... :p

id like to hear what type of game blast wind and hyper duel are? im guessing shmups? are they hard to find and are they worth tracking down?

dj898
12-28-2004, 11:00 PM
to tell you the truth I wasn't that impressed with Hyper Duel.
Sure it's one of 3 digit titles for Saturn but I was expecting bit more...
of coz doesn't mean it's bad - just for $90 I paid I was expecting bit more I suppose...

for Blast Wind I only played like 5 min or so before got bored (I'm not a huge shooter fans btw)... no idea how expensive nor easy to get this one as it's one of titles from my original collection dating few years back...

Even red label is lame compared to PC hentai titles...
most of yellow label is to do with the sotry line rather than any digital nudity...

The accepted westernization seems to be "Ousama Game," in case anybody wants to Google that.

And BTW, is that bottom game (same pic) "Girls in Motion Puzzle Vol. 1"?

dj898
01-04-2005, 07:26 PM
Yep! And quite nice actually...

Ousama Game is fairly hard to find.
I've looked for one quite some time coz most of them were asking around 8000 yen mark. At the end I had to pay 3700 yen which was still more than I'd pay for any SS/PS JPN titles.

Best post ever.

Word.

Anyway, where can I get an all-metal Beretta Guncon?

Nice plasma, have you had any problems with burn-in? I imagine you play tons of games on the thing.

It's so hard to get neat stuff like those demo now. I was eyeing your Silhouette Mirage demo. I like the Space Channel 5 boxset too.

dj898
02-15-2005, 06:16 PM
Hori Beretta GunCon was only available in Japan and for good reason.
it's almost identical replica to the real gun and made of alloy at about the same weight - little lighter actually. You don't want kids welding one of these running on the street... As a test I once listed it on eBay and they pulled it down in no time... :) Even if you get one in Japan good luck importing one thru the custom... I'm sure the custom officer won't be amused... :p

I've had the PDP since 2003 and haven't had any bun-in issue but then I'm very careful with this thing and every time I pause the game to go toilet or something I turn off the screen... nowadays it's running full time whole day with TeleTubbies DVD for my daughter... :(

I've gotten pretty much all SS/DC/PCE/PS1 titles I wanted so I'm more into LE/demo/sample/promo stuffs nowadays...

cheers

What an amazing collection!

I have a question for fellow Saturn collectors...

What does the Saturn "system disc" do?

What is one worth (approximately)?

One of my buddies stumbled upon one and he is planning to ebay it soon. Also, he isn't sure if there are supposed to be two discs (his says KD02 which indicates that it may need to work with a KD01).

Thanks,

Brett

dj898
07-05-2005, 06:20 AM
there were two - system disc 1 for 1st party and system disc 2 for 3rd party...

from what I recall if it's complete with packaging it should fetch some where around $200-300 mark depends on the demand... if the disc only should be around $150-200...
