PC Magic Box + Blaze Twin Stick PSX

Ok, picked up a Blaze Twin Stick for PSX at the pawn today (pink buttons), and I can't seem to get it to work in my PC magic box. Controller works in a ps2, but windows doesn't seem to be detecting it properly. the game controllers dialog seems to think several buttons are being pressed at once, when none are. MAME doesn't accept it's imput either.

Anyone know of a way to make this work? I've got two PC magic boxes I can use, we tried plugging both players in on two magicboxes that were on different pcs but that didn't seem to do anything either.

Anyway, advice on this please if anyone has any.

the problem lies in your ps2 -> usb converter
ive construced a arcade controller by gutting a controller and the same error occured. it apparently has something to do with crappy clock control on the mpu in the converter. my advice get a "better more expensive one"
