Does anyone know what the hell this is?

It has a Scorpion logo on the front, and a different case...
Seller says it plays Sonic on Megadrive???

I never heard of a clone that would play original games??

Well I would assume it's like a Fami-clone, plays the Famicom carts, but it's not a legit system. Which is something I would think along those lines when I see this Sega Mega Drive XV1
Given the time frame 1988-1989....it could have been possible someone made a spin off
and just looking at the picture again, it has a PAL PSU 220Volt...so it could be from Hong Kong (Since some parts of Asia use PAL and others use NTSC)

Well the price isn't that bad at the moment, it wouldn't hurt, plus once we get a second opinion on what this could be, then it could be worth something

The scorpion might be a sticker.

Thought I'd dig this up as I've just found a clip of the Scorpion on the UK TV show 'Bad Influence'. I remember seeing this episode when it was on TV, so this brings back some memories. I did actually see the Scorpion for sale in our local Beatties too.
So, anyone have one?

More info, and pic stolen from here (http://segaclone.emucamp.com/clones/scorpionxvi/scorpionxvi.htm).
So I assume that as there's no 32X love, there's be no playing Virtua Racing or using a MS converter? Not sure if the Mega CD will work either? None on Ebay, but now I have a strange urge to find one.

Yeah, seen a few of 'em before, probably on Mercado Libre. There's a few odd-looking MD clones I've seen on there. I've got pics saved sommwhere I think...

Yeah, if you could post pics, it'd be great. I've seen many , many Famiclones but not so many Segaclones. The stranger or more completely random the better.

That's interesting. I've never even heard of a Scorpion or any other Genesis clones before. Then again, I've never gone out of my way to look for one.

Cool! someone dug up one of my posts!
Thats pretty good detective work CosmicMonkey, makes me wish id bought it now (I never did actually bid if your curious..!)
I wonder if it would be possible to add a 9 pin AV port to it, obviously tapping signals inside. I bet it would be a hard job though!
