Intellivision Lives! for the PC/Mac because of all the extra goodies on it.

Activision Anthology (GBA version) comes second (I would've put the PS2 version instead, but the PS2 port of Beamrider is buggy).

Third place: Midway Arcade Treasures 1 (it would have easily been second or even tied at first were the video interviews redone).

My favorite is STILL Activision Anthology. The clever mix of old games, unreleased games, unlockable patches, weird playmodes and 80's music is still a hook for me.

I also really enjoyed Konami Arcade Classics and Arcade Party Pack on PS1. They're very close seconds.

Midway Arcade Treasures 2 , WHY you may ask. There are games on that disk that you won't find anywhere else, granted some you may not want to find. :D

I've always been partial to the Namco Museum series, m'self. (Although it's not without it's flaws).

Other favorites: Atari Anniversary Redux and Williams' Greatest Arcade Hits.

Speaking of retro paks... does anyone have the PC (or Mac) version of Activision Anthology? If so, was the Beamrider bug fixed? Any other bugs that crept up instead?

These are the retropaks I own (multigame ports only):

Activision Anthology (PS2)
Activision Anthology (GBA)
Ms. Pac-Man Special Color Edition (GBC)
Pac-Man Collection (GBA)
Phantasy Star Collection (GBA)
Konami Arcade Advanced (GBA)
Intellivision Lives! (PC/Mac)
Intellivision Rocks! (PC/Mac)
Namco Museum 1 (PS1)
Namco Museum 3 (PS1)
Atari Anniversary Redux (PS1)
Midway Arcade Treasures (GCN)
Midway Arcade Tresaures 2 (GCN)
Arcade's Greatest Hits: The Atari Collection 1 (SNES)

Incidentally, the last title was also published for PS1 and is basically, give or take a couple of games, the same thing as Atari Anniversary (minus the interview with Nolan Bushnell, of course).

I now want to get a second copy of MAT1, but for PS2 this time, so I can play Robotron and Smash TV with the Dual Shock joysticks instead of the GameCube controller.

Midway Arcade Treasures 2 gets my vote. I love having A.P.B., Arch Rivals Rampage, and the Mortal Kombats all on one disc.

What Beamrider bug?

All I've found so far is a missing sound in Pitfall.

In the PS2 version of Activision Anthology, Beamrider doesn't start at the right level. In comparison, it works perfectly fine in the GBA version.

I forgot about it, but there's also a bug with Oink! (in the PS2 version; the GBA version runs fine). In the game, the Pig is supposed to drop the brick he's holding whenever you hit the button. In the PS2 port, it doesn't work. Piggy has to walk down to the lower wall to drop the brick, which makes it nearly impossible to play.

Gonna say Activision right now since that's the one I own. played MAT2 yesterday and enjoyed it. Debating getting that, Atari or maybe Kingdom Hearts this week.

Sega Smash Pack on Dreamcast (Gotta love Virtua Cop 2!)

That's the only good port on there... the sound on the rest of the games is HORRIBLE.

My favorite is MAT2 because of NARC. Namco Museum on PS2 is another good one.

Midway Arcade Treasures for the Cube. Roadblasters just controls so well on that one.

Namco Museum for PS2 would be number one if it had a vertical mode. I got all the PSOne Museums for that, but the arrangement versions are sadly un-tate-able. :hmm:

I also love Atari Anniversary Edition Redux for PSOne. Atari vector arcade game mania!

My favorite is MAT2 because of NARC. Namco Museum on PS2 is another good one.

So true, It was horrible with the sound effects for Altered Beast even...I can't believe they screwed that up...

My favorite is Midway Arcade Treasures (PS2), with Activision Anthology (PS2) a close second.

Here's what I own:

Playstation:
Atari Anniversary Edition Redux

PS2:
Activision Anthology
Atari Anthology
Midway Arcade Treasures
Namco Museum

Gamecube:
The Legend Of Zelda Collector's Edition
Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Sonic Mega Collection

I'll probably get Midway Arcade Treasures 2 (PS2) sooner or later too.

EDIT: Just picked up Atari Anthology for the PS2 tonight, so that's added to the list.

And I bought yesterday a used copy of MAT PS2 version, so I can now play Robotron and Smash TV properly.
