Those of you who have tried (or suceeded), know that this is no simple task (Or maybe it is and I just suck). It only took me about 12 hours and 100 attempts, but its done. I am fairly certian that I will not play any further as the game only gets harder and harder as you progress. I just wanted to beat that part for my own pride.
Anyway...comments, flames, praise?

I"m stuck there as well. I gave up.
Seriously.
As much as I love Halo 2, playing solo on Legendary shows that the game was still rushed, because there is no legt way you could acquire all those skulls, kill all those Elite, and survive intact all the way to the end without hacking it or some such.
I was able to go through the whole last level after about 10 hours, but then Tarty basically guts me every chance. No thanks.

Acquire all those skulls? Am I missing something?

i beat it on Legendary.
i think HALO 2 is like the first HALO. there are a few brutal spots, but once you get past the few brutal spots, the rest is easy.
Good Luck, and don't give up! :D

Plenty of people have done it, just as they did in the first game. Legendary in both is all about memorization, guerilla tactics, and lots of patience. And the plasma pistol. Seriously, I don't think it's possible to finish legendary in either game without it, since Elites are vicious if you can't blow out their shields. I haven't tried Tartarus on Legendary, though I'd assume that shooting at him from the platform Miranda's on when his shield goes down would be fairly safe, assuming you don't want to be a jerk and fly the Banshee into the structure and just strafe him :P
jgenotte: the skulls are an easter egg that Bungie put in the game...basically, every level on Legendary has a skull somewhere in it that when picked up, changes the game somehow. One gives the Master Chief the invisibility power of the "other" character, another builds your shields via melees, and such forth. The effects aren't permanent (they go off when you turn off the Xbox, if I recall), but they are sweet.
