For some odd reason GameCube games have always seemed to run in different variations at different stores, such as a huge Target logo on the cover with some exclusive content inside. What I'm wondering is if anyone is making a list of all the variations out there, because I know there are quite a few.

So, here are a few I know of.

- Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Target Edition
Included the "bullseye tour" when it was first released with a special tournament you can enter to win prizes.

- Mario Gold Toadstool Tour, Best Buy Edition
Same as above but for Best Buy.

- Metroid Prime, Target Edition
The cover just had a logo on it that said something like "Lots of coupons inside!" and it did, there were like $50 worth of coupons in it, even one that was for Zelda The Wind Waker before it even had the name Wind Waker.

That's a good question...I've been wondering the same thing recently. Wal Mart gets some exclusive stuff too. It sure gets complicated, but I'd love it if the GC and other modern systems lists could incorporate this.

I may be way off, but i think the target and best buy versions were actually the same disk as the normal one, just a cover variant. You entered a code to get the tour - but you could do this even if you didn't have the target version if memory serves....

Metroid Prime 2 also has a target edition. It comes with a free 1 month napster subscription.

I know that WalMart had a short run of Indigo (or black as im not remembering at the moment) cubes that came with a 256 memory card and there was a big sticker saying WalMart Exclusive. I saw these just before the metroid Bundle pack came out.

I have this edition. There's a target logo near Samus' right shoulder and a purple Samus "S" logo on the right side of her torso with "COUPONS INSIDE! $50 IN SAVINGS" printed in white font over the logo and "Only at Target" under that in red font. If I had a digital camera I'd post a pic.

Other than that, it's no different than any other version of MP.

Do you know what the other coupons were for? I picked up my copy used and it didn't have the coupons. I'm kinda curious about what they were for.

metroid prime also has a kmart exclusive version that came with the wavebird wireless controller. it has the "kmart exclusive!" logo and a picture of the controller on the middle right of the front cover. also has "not for resale" on the back.

I know it has Super Mario Sunshine, a Wavebird, REmake and Resident Evil Zero coupons in it, possible Mario Party 4 too, and it also had a "Zelda" in a weird text with no trace of anything Wind Waker related.

Oh and some GBA coupons but I forget for what.
