I beat the old 64 version, but only have 3 right now on the DS

On the DS I have actually only gotten about 26 I think. I for some reason have been playing the N64 version of Mario64 lately alot more! I haven't played the N64 version since back in '98 when i beat it, then haven't played it since the day the DS was released. I got out the verison to compare and starting playing it more.

Really didn't take all that long either - 2 or 3 days I think. I only got stuck on one of the new stars - everything else was pretty easy to find, or so I thought.

And Drexel, highlight for some spoilers (ie. the best way to get that missing star):

The fastest way to get the glowing rabbit star is to choose Yoshi, and then go out the front door of the castle. There are 5 rabbits outside - three by the end of the bridge, one in the moat to the left, and one near the hedge maze on the right. Took me maybe 10 minutes of running in and out to catch all 8 rabbits.

There ya go!

I have about 13 right now. Haven't played it very much. Even on the N64 I think the most I got was 105. Never did get to see Yoshi. :(

I have...maybe 3 stars. I still can't find a comfy way of controlling this game. What methods do you guys use? I seem to do best with the good ol' D-pad, as the thumb strap always hurts my finger after a while.

I got the hang of it after doing the bowser levels that really need precision controlling. I just used the D-pad. Although i always have to be changing the camera view.

I hate "Lands of Shifting Sands" Is there a trick to this level? beause i cant get on the pyramid without sinking first :(

I didn't like the touch screen controll at first, but now I love it and find it better than the N64's joystick in most ways. I've never had the strap hurt my hand.

For shifting sands desert just get mario the feather hat and fly over teh sand.

Umm..I got a whole 24! :) Then again, I work 90% of my life away, and the other 9% is taking care of my daughter....leaving a whole 1% to enjoy my games. It's all good tho. I'll probably hit the 150 in 2008 or so...
