going through an inventory of my games today, i noticed a couple of my 3DO games that are disk only or in a jewel case only are labeled 'not for resale'. gex is obviously one of them, but i also have return fire maps o death and others whose names currently escape me.

i was not into games when 3DO was popular, and these(i think) all came from one guy. just wondering if they had 3DO kiosks set up in stores(ive never heard of of seen anyone that has one) or if these were sent to stores so the clerks could test the games...i dont know what these are...i cant imagine they were all pack in games.

a search yeilded nothing, and the Dp guide doesnt list anything either. any info(or anyone that has a list of any others that may exist) would be appreciated.

3DO had a dealer demonstration program where the games were distributed to retail stores on 8 1/2 x 11" sell sheets with a slipcase to hold the game. The sell sheet described the game and the basic control scheme. The games themselves are no different than the retail versions other than the "Not for Resale" you see printed on each.

The sell sheets in turn are hole-punched and fit into a dealer demonstration program binder. I've got about 25 different disks w/sell sheets but I have yet to find a complete list of these.

I should add this to the guide. Thanks for pointing it out!

If you'd like a photo of the binder and/or sample sell sheet, let me know.

The 3DO had several pack-in schemes over the years. I don't recall Return Fire ever being a pack-in, but I'm pretty sure Shockwave was one of them.

ohh yeah, and Maps of Death was most likely packaged w/ Return Fire at some point.
