My soon to be brother in law (he's 16) just got a PS2 for Xmas. I figured that I would give him my mint, hardly played PS2 copies of GTA III and Vice City because they are the reason he got the system in the first place, and I never play them (and it is a good, free XMas gift). After watching him indulge in the mayhem, I got the bug again.
Recently, I got an XBox (I waited too long). I have been enjoying the exclusives, mostly of the Sega variety, but didn't think of GTA until I gave my PS2 games away. After watching him play, I absolutely needed to get them back right away. After checking out the IGN review of the double packs, I had to have the XBox versions of GTA III & Vice City.
Well, I am shocked. Everything that bothered me about the originals (mostly the frame rate (that is my pet peeve)) was totally rectified. Better textures, better resolution, a solid frame rate... I am in heaven.
Can't want until June/July, so I can experience San Andreas in the glory of the XBox. M$ has done me right yet again. I can't believe how good the XBox versions of the GTA series are. They are truly mindblowing.
