CPU : SH5-100S RISC CPU (500Mhz)
Graphic Engine : nVidia NV43 based
Sound Engine : Custom Macronix 16bit DSP @ 81MHz
Main Memory : 128MB GDDR3/1000MHz
Graphic Memory : 128 MByte
Model Data Memory : 96MByte
Sound Memory : 48 MByte
Media : DGD-Rom

Aparently the fusion of these two companies(SEGA/SAMMY) has produced a product that no one expected: New console Hardware, a successor to our beloved Dreamcast.

This information is yet to be confirmed and the only thing we have is the system specs leaked from www.sega.co.jp....
Anybody understand japanese? Can somebody please confirm it?

media- DGD-Rom. what is that? dreamcast media was referred to as Giga Disks, or GD-Roms.

where did you see those specs you listed?
This may be new arcade hardware based on the Naomi and/or Atomiswave.

What would be the sense in manufacturing a 128bit system when the competition is already developing consoles to take us to "the next level"?

For all we know, the next-gen systems could be 128-bit. I mean, we don't know squat on the new Sony/Nintendo/MS stuff.

I heard that Sony plans surpassing the PS2 with a 256bit console, but who's to say if those rumors have any basis about them?

Wow, there's still a few people around that think bits can tell them how powerful a console is?

I'm off to go play Super Mario Kart on my 16 bit Intellivision right now. :)

 Apparently these aholes from Argentina thought it would be funny to post this since today is there version of April fools! http://www.talfi.net/e107/comment.php?797 They were just commenting on how funny it was going to be when we posted this news. Apparently I wasn't the only one who ate it up http://gamikaze.artichost.net/ Hopefully there is someone here who can return them the favor.

That picture with the SEGA boxes is very very old.

And that console picture is actually a console being made by APEX.

Those pictures shown have been proven to be fake already. Those are old, and appeared on sfghq.emulationzone.org posts about .. a little under half a year ago.

EDIT: Someone already posted that it seems before I could finish posting THIS , so yeah...my post still stands. :/.

Pretty funny gag. I know some April Fool's jokes still make the rounds years later especially when people leave the webpages up for innocents to stumble on :)
