Looks nice, but I was under the impression that Nuby is the worst joystick manufacturer ever.

hmmm now i gotta decide between this and the new SNK stick... i think i gotta go with this one, as much as i love SNK, im much better on a competition stick than a SNK stick.

That stick sucks. Honestly.

For the casual gamer it may be okay, but in high level competitive play it won't work in the streets.

I'd suggest saving up for a Hori Real Arcade Pro(which will come out by Feb. in the US, officially lincensed by Sony too)... or getting MAS stick. Quality on those two are high, way higher than this imitation fighting game stick.

If it sounds like I'm just bashing on Nuby, I'm not. I got a chance to try this stick several times, once at SD Comic-Con a few months ago and another time at EVO2004 the World Fighting Game Championships... It's actually not even made by Nuby, they contracted another company to do the sticks.

Other than 'It sucks' what can you say about it? Like... why it sucks?

Ugh...MAS sticks. I hated those when I used em. They used good parts but the design is a turd.

If it's anything like the ones they had at SDCC and EVO, they are just totally unresponsive.

The wiring is the main problem, I'm assuming that they are still using the shoddy boards found in their other sticks(Soul Calibur II Universal stick, Dragon Ball Z Budokai stick etc...).

Diagonals were extremely hard to find(this coming from people that play fighting games on a daily basis) and buttons were unresponsive for continuous strings and simultaneous presses.

Example, if those of you are familiar with AHVB tiger knee motions from MVC2 or with EWGF from Tekken, good luck pulling those off on that stick.

Main thing, design looks okay, but I'd rather take quality over that shit any day.

I am going with the SNK stick, that one doesn't look really nice to me at all.

Also I was just able to confirm.

The parts in the stick are not HAPP parts, they are imitation cheap parts from Bao Liang... an arcade part manufacturer in China.

Anyone know if this is going to come out for the Xbox? I am going to be picking one of these up strictly because it is Street Fighter related.

I picked this up today.. Have yet to plug it in but wanted to mention a few things.

There is a Xbox memory port on the front of the unit, and the box clearly states that it is Live compatible. It's packed with a nice poster of the art work on the top of the unit.

I'll give you an update when I give it a solid workout.

Man.

It's a good thing I play fighting games indoors.

"Won't work in the streets?"

You sound like that kid with the Power Glove from "The Wizard."

Ok had a chance to run it through the works using the SF:AC for PS2.

Now I must admit that I do have a life outside of SF so I don't play it every day and I haven't played it in an arcade in forever. However the stick does have that arcade feel, and the moves and timing came back like second nature. I found it to very responsive, and the diagonals were right where they were supposed to be. I was turning out combos with no trouble at all and was able to use all of characters with almost the same level of skill as I once did.

Often with these kinds of sticks I find my right hand losing it's place over the buttons and thus screwing myself up, but this time it wasn't an issue. To me this feels like an arcade stick, and my body naturally responded to it as such. Now I actually feel at home with SF. This is how it should be played, not with some funky console controller. Can't wait to put in VF4: Evo and see what kind of damage I can do with Kage.

All in all it turned out to be better than expected. I'm very pleased with the purchase and will no doubt pick up another just for safe keeping.

I bought it yesterday. Personally, I love it. I haven't had any issues with controls or anything. I love the feel of the thing. Feels almost like it did years ago when I played in the arcade. And yes, I love the artwork as well.
In my opinion, it was money well spent.

I just got one of these today. this thing is damn sexy.

As I was paying, the clerk asked me

"Would you like to a 1 year warranty ? It only 9.99"

I replied

"No, It is not going to be opened. It is a collectors item."

He rings me up then says

"Not gonna open it huh?" With a look like, you didn't have to lie to me if you didn't want to pay for the warranty.

I looked him in the eye and said. Nope. he then just kinda gave me a weird look. It was then I realized just how much of a gaming nerd I had become.

I do want to open this bad boy up. I won't though.

No too sext, no too sexy.
