I just went around town, and noticed a few stores are aselling the Mario Kart DD game separately which should be inside the Platinum bundle...

The cases all have "Not to be sold separately" on them, so are they actually allowed to be selling them? They are selling them at the same price as the usual version too (£19.99)

I was always led to believe that they aren't allowed to do that - Hence the words "Not to be sold separately" on them...

I also notice some places are doing the same with the Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time game as well...

I actually pointed it out to one guy in HMV, and he promptly went over and removed all copies of Mario Kart from the shelves, but what will become of them? Will he put them straight back on after I have gone? Or will they be destroyed? Or will they be given away to staff or something?

Maybe you should report the store - at least to their head office. And possibly to Nintendo if that continues.

In Canada that game still goes for about $70 Cdn (though I expect it to drop soon), the bundle w/ the 2 controllers sells for $130. This is something I'd expect some smaller video-game only stores to do, not a large national chain.

Most stores tend to look the other way when dealing with "Not for Resale" games.

Contact Nintendo. As I was a preferred Nintendo dealer I can tell you that they'd be very interested.

What these guys are doing is splitting the bundle packs and gaining extra profit from them. The cost on the game inside is free. It becomes pure profit.

Well, I have already alerted Microsoft this week about stores tampering with the COA sticker on Xbox games - Sometimes even removing the stickers (Ie, they have to open games to display the box's Etc...)

They don't seem to be too interested.

Maybe I will alert Nintendo if I see them on the shelves again.

Mind you, I just got back from my local Tesco, and they too have them for sale...

I too would expect a small independant shop to do this too, and you saw a lof of this sort of thing on eBay with the Mario Kart / Zelda disc, and Pokemon Colloseum / Pokemon Box disc with normal people and sometimes independant shops splitting the console bundles and selling the contents all separate.

Gamestop does it with the GTA Doublepacks for Xbox. They sell each game by its self used..

I've seen the Sonic Adventure 2 demo disc retail as the full game for $15.

I have seen it to. Only with used games though, like the smaplers and collectors edition. Some for $10 bucks. Why would you guys complain though? We can get steals this way, and not have to pay ebay prices. If they are selling them new, I guess that's a reason to complain, but when there used is it reallty that big of a deal that someone should get into trouble over it?

Call Nintendo and file a complaint if you must.

Answer me this though, when you eventually get tired of the game are you going to put it for sale on ebay separately or will you only resell it bundled with your DS like its ment to be?

A private sale has nothing to do with a retailer splitting up bundled items...

Nintendo put the package together at a cost to move units.. not so that retailers could split them up and sell things piecemeal...

Why wouldn't it? Most of us don't like people getting ripped off due to the greed of stores.

If they take the Mario Karts Out of the Cube bundles Who is buying the cubes with the missing game that should be shown on the box?

Maybe it was a customer return that wasn't salvagable, or they are just stupid.

that would be just becouse the person sold it back that way, like if someone wanted to keep vice city but sell gta 3.

i also would like to say i have no problem withstores selling demos and shirts becouse sometimes its a pain finding them in the first place.

Well, as the PAL versions of the console bundles come with card sleeves, it would just be a matter of slipping off the cover and selling the console on it's own at full price.
