Well, I'm hoping either someone here can help me or recomened somebody. My arcade game is slowly falling apart and is in need of some serious repairs. Two buttons are completely failed, the coin slot has fallen off, and, well, it needs some general TLC. So, anyone know someone or can you do anything for me? Of course services will be paid for! Thanks!

if anyone replies, let me know too...
my robotron crapped out and i really want to play!
i called an arcade shop last week, but they have an answering service and seemed directed more at businesses than for private use. they also have yet to return my call...
i may try again though. the answering service lady was a real bitch, so may not have taken my message...if i find someone ill let you know.

Check out our very own Arcade Alley forum - the ladies and gents in there have a ton of info. There's also a ton of great links in there if you want to DIY. :) Bob Roberts has replacement parts for pretty much anything you could ever want http://www.therealbobroberts.com. I'd also recommend taking a good long look through http://www.arcaderestoration.com, there's a huge wealth of info there with tons of articles, links, pics and anythiing else you could ask for.
Buttons are pretty much cake to replace, and if you aren't able to find someone locally, we can probably steer you in the right direction on your own repairs, 'specially if you can post pics of your cab and its problems. For local folks, check the yellow pages under "amusement devices" or something similar. You might also try local arcades and see if they can recommend a tech guy.
@qbert - what's the problem with your Robotron? Does it power up? Coin up? Bad monitor?

Sad when a TV show perfectly sums up my life in one line, huh? :) Well, okay, substitute Coca-Cola or Mountain Dew in place of Shasta, and it'd be 100% dead-on. Scary. And sad. LOL

my robotron worked fine for about 2 weeks, then i was playing, went to let the dog out, and when i came back
black screen.
seems to power up, but nothing shows up and no sound. as i recall the screen shows light(like its got power) but no picture.

I am assuming it is like a Joust internally. I believe most boards are the same on that series of Williams. Download the manual from online and see if it is passing the self test internally. If not, it may be coming up with a RAM error which may be a chip that needs reseating or a bad RAM chip. My Joust is bad about having bad sockets on the RAM chips or bad chips. Try that first to see what code comes up and I'm sure we can help more. Sounds like a board problem if you are getting a glow to the monitor.

Hm, that would explain why my Robotron cabinet has a Joust bezel. Unfortunately, someone between then and now slapped some baseball game into it, complete with a weird control panel (little knobs for swinging the bat I presume). It's too bad too, the Robotron cabinet itself is probably a 6 or 7 out of 10.
