I cant find Elite for the NES in any collectors list. Does anyone know anything about rarity or pricing?
The same with Parodius or the 3in1 cartridge with Super Mario Bros, Tetris and Nintendo World Cup Soccer.
I use this list http://www.dlcollectibles.com/me/nesguide.txt
but it lists neither of these three titles.
Just so I dont have to do this every time I find a game thats NOT on th elist, does anyone have a complete list of released NES games or do I have to buy the DP book everybody talks about....?![/url]
The games you mention are all PAL (Europe/Australia) releases. Todd Miller had done a list that includes those games and label variations, but I lost the link.

Well - thx for the tip anyway, google brought up this
http://www.angelfire.com/games2/nessie/lists.htm
Sadly, just a complete list of releases but it says nothing about rarity.

Wouldnt these PAL exclusives automatically be a sought after item even for US collectors?
I mean, a rare PAL game would, by definition, be even rarer (is that even a word) than a rare US release. Are there collectors who collect videogames despite of their origin? Or is a rare PAL game less of a conversation piece then a rare US game?
I mean, take Parodius for example, GENIUS! I love the game on the SNES (and own it of course) and to get my hands on a NES copy would be great. How do US collectors feel about this? Interesting? Not interesting?

Some of those titles ARE highly sought after in the US (and everywhere else). Rodland is one of the most desirable carts out there. But just being a PAL exclusive doesn't automatically make it rare. It may be hard to find in the US, but easy to locate if you simply go over to ebay or trade with someone from the country the game was released. I've gotten some pretty good games for not much in either trade or money just because I looked in the right place. There are people in other countries that look for US "exclusive" games too!!

nope - not for the european releases. the second list I posted, when you scroll down to the beginning of the EUROPEAN/AUSTRALIAN/CANADIAN RELEASES part, they all have As and Bs but as its stated
"This is not the rarity as in the US release list. I am not sure exactly
how to rate the rarity on these."
so, no european rarity list....

I don't normally do this - you SHOULD buy the book! But you seem like a decent fellow so here are the entries from the book.
ELITE (by Imagineer) Rarity 4/Dollars $20
Designed by Ian Bell and Neil Braben. A port of the famous mid-1980s computer game. The only NES game to use vector graphics for a pseudo-3D effect. Unfortunately, those graphics create timing problems, meaning you can’t play the game on a NTSC NES. This game was made available for public download by the original authors.
PARODIUS (by Falcom) Rarity 3/Dollars $15
A shooter with features from (and "parodying") all of Konami’s previous shoot-em-up titles, especially Gradius.
I don't see the 3-in-1 on our database. I'll have to check into why that is. Is it a Famicom cart? Or maybe it has a different name that I'm just zipping past?

Wow - thanks, thats nice...
Here is a link to the Cartridge on the german ebay site
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1943806152
there are quite a few of em on there, so its nothing rare I guess, but mabye worth some investigation.
And I will most definetely buy the book now, because I am once again hooked on ebay - I just found a NES with box and some very rare games (Mighty Final Fight anyone) but I am uncertain if its a good idea to share finds with you guys while I havent secured em yet ;)
Anyway, thx for the help and input and I think you have just bred yourself another NES addict. Well, my SNES, N64, GB and GBA have been feeling kinda lonely lately anyway....

I used to have a loose Parodius for sale on ebay.com, but didn't receive a bid (for $10). But I already sold it at local ebay for about the same.

I have a contact in France who send me NES stuff, so i don't need to look en ebay for this, it's save lot of trouble and lot of shipping.
By the way, we know that "Ultra" it's a subdivision of Konami, but it's "Palcom" is the "Ultra" for Europe ?
