Awighty, so I just beat the game, but when I load the file of my beaten game, I'm not prompted to choose my difficulty for subsequent playthroughs. Will I be able to take on Hard or Extreme mode on my beaten game file? Can anyone who's beaten the game confirm this?

I would assume you could like you can in MGS 1 + 2

Promophile, you must be mistaken. I've beaten the game many times over, and unlike MGS2 and Twin Snakes, MGS3 does NOT let you pick a different difficulty level after you've beaten it. If you want to use your special items on a different difficulty, you'll have to start a new file and earn them there. :/

Oh duh yea my bad, I haven't played it in awhile and what I did was save over my save file with the new extreme game.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww... nertz. I assumed so. I guess the programmers wanted to discourage the use of special items on higher difficulties this time around. Well, thanks, guys. Extreme's going to be a bitch to tackle, it will. >_<
