I see there's finally a game to really capture my attention on the system. I really liked the original title on the GBA, and I've already seen pictures of what looks like a snowy forest (the one thing I missed in the new Metroidvania games, heh), so I'm all set to go out and get it.

I'm interested too... I want to buy a DS but there isn't any game I die for yet... but I'm sure when this new Castlevania title is out, I'll get the DS.

BTW, there are pictures of this new game already? I think I'm missing lot of things, lol

EDIT: ok, I just checked CV Dungeon... wow 8-)

I am really looking forward to this title also. I loved the GBA version, and it looks as though this is going to be great.

Is it just me, or that game looks just like a regular gba game?

I wouldvé thought they would make a 3d game for DS...what a shame x_x

Uhm, we ARE talking about Castlevania right? For the most part there hasn't been a great 3-D Castlevania yet!

But I do agree that it looks GBA which may not sell it to naysayers...

There's way too much detail and color for that to be a GBA game. It's stunning and proof the DS can handle 2-D. A good sign if there ever was one.

I can drink to that! Here's to the series living on in 2D for a long time. I like Castlevania 64 and, to a lesser extent, LoD as well but I'm thankful this isn't a 3D game. That'd be rather dispiriting.

Yeah, it looks godly. I'm definitely going to be getting this.. I'm GLAD they didn't make it 3D. 3D + Castlevania = doesn't work

Your right! I compared screenshots and the DS screens are pretty sweet in comparison...

Cheers,

This will be the game that makes me buy a DS. Of course I'll wait till the castlevania game comes out (fall 2005?), before I buy the system. With the psp coming out, I'll be tapped out of money for a while.

It looks great, but I don't like the idea of using the bottom screen for the gameplay. My touch screen is already marked up, and I'm sure it'll look much worse by the time this game comes out. I sure hope there is a way to flip the screens. I don't see why it would be so hard to draw the magic seal on the map instead of the gameplay screen... since that's apparently the only thing the touch function will be used for.

I'm guessing they did that so you can use the stylus to "aim" your spell as you're writing it.

If your DS screen is getting scratched, you should invest in a screen protector, yesterday even LOL

Why is it all scratched up already??? You must have REALLY done something hard pressed to it for the DS to do that. Get scratched that is. I would definately invest in a screen protector if I were you. :)

I don't know if it's particularly scratched, hence why I used the word marked instead. However, it does have marks on it that are really hard to get off, and it seems to collect them really easily from the stylus. Every time I play a DS game I've got to clean off the touch screen. I don't think I'm pressing particularly hard either, just light taps for gameplay. Oh, and a lot of pictochat.

I've been using a q-tip lately, which seems to have helped a bit. Though I definitely look stupid using one instead of the stylus. Anyway, I've heard screen protectors screw up the touch screen and cause it to be completely or at least mostly insensitive, is that true at all?

I'm looking foward to this with a passion. Granted it was just released, but I was a bit disappointed with the current available games. Although with the annoucement of this plus several possible rpgs coming out on it, the future is bright. I love Aria so much I don't see how I won't be picking this up release day.

It's probably the only reason I'd like to own a DS next to Animal Crossing at the moment :) Yet, I'm still waiting for a price drop to $99 for the system before I pick this up

Aria's one of the best GBA games no doubt, but while I bought a copy of the game I didn't buy a GBA (I have a GBP, and an unopened copy of Aria...just cool to have, and I don't really feel like messing around with the cart LOL ). Similarly, I will get AoS 2 but I can't see myself plunking down tons of cash for a DS. :P

You bet your arse I'm interested. If I don't have a DS by the time this game is out, I shall indeed get one. Between this and Curse of Darkness in the process of development for the PS2, this looks to be a good year for Castlevania. :whip:
