Heh. So do the other 100 people trying to sell their system as well. :P

And the thousands waiting to snag a GG for a decent price... LOL

Well, hello there, Game Gear! Good to see you again. How's your brother going...the white one. No, no, that's not what I meant...not at all. He's got a snazzy case...oh, I give up :D

I dunno....don't really remember it too well. Both my blue and black one have been sitting in my closet for years.

$50.00 seems kind of high for a starting bid. I'd say that $30.00 sounds more reasonable. I guess the seller doesn't remember what a good price is.

what was the white one for, something commerative? or just a limited edition version? :embarrassed:

Japanese version, it's a limited edition. I know at least some came in a case along with a white TV tuner. Good stuff.

Blue and white Game Gears??? Never seen one of either. Anyone got any images of them? Would love to see one. I just got the normal black one, along with a few games and the TV Tuner. Didn't even know they did different coloured GG's til about 2 mins ago!

I would point you to the thread that has all of the pictures of all of the different colored Game Gears...

...but the search is down.

So instead, I'll give you a list I compiled from said thread:

Black (standard)
Blue (Was released in the US, probably the most common of GG color variants)
Majesco (Same as black, but with white ovals instead of R.G.B. ones)
White
Coca-Cola (red in color, has Coca-Cola logo on it)
Magical Knight Rayearth (red in color, has Magical Knight Rayearth written on it, comes with Magical Knight Rayearth game)
Cherry Red (bright red, brighter than the red used on the Coca-Cola and Magical Knight Rayearth GG's.)
Yellow
Virtua Fighter (goldish in color, has a picture of a chibi Virtua Fighter on it)
Light Blue (There was actually one of these on eBay not too long ago)
Hot Pink
Pink (Darker in color than hot pink)

And the ones I cannot verify because I not have seen pictures of either:
Orange
Transparent

White

Actually if you compare the two Majesco is "true black" while the official version is more charcoal. Also the official has a blue start button while Majesco's is purple.

I really had no idea that Sega had ever done any different coloured GG's than the original one! I know about all the rare special edition Dreamcasts (e.g. the 2 Hello Kitty variants, etc) but nothing about the game gears! I'll have to keep a look out for them!

Ah, never noticed that. Thanks for the heads-up.

Around 2.5 years ago , all the Ames were going out of business around me, and they were selling brand new Game Gears for only $19.99. They also had around 5 different games there too for I think $5 each. I was thinking about buying one, but I wasn't obsessed with vintage gaming yet, so I didn't. Looks like I should have though.

The point is: nostalgia. Bit obvious, ain't it? lol ;)

Anyone got a photo of the coca cola one? would be interested in seeing one.

also, does anyone have or remember the Sega Nomad, a USA only GG style handheld that played Mega Drive/Genesis games? Were there ever any special editions of that too?

Don't forget the Jeweled 80,000 dollar one that was sold at that one super fancy department store in England.

Definitely never heard of that one either! Anybody have any background info about this jewelled game gear? When, which store, and why a jewelled game gear?
