View Full Version : How much of your collection have you completed?

So in my recent quest to finish some of the games I'm in the middle of before I start any new ones, I decided to take a tally of the games in my collection that I've beaten.

Turns out I've actually completed over a quarter of my collection, which is a bit better than I had expected considering it's 80% RPG's. 59 of 218, and that leaving unbeatable games like Tetris and Skate or Die in there as unbeaten, but also counts all ports of the same game as beaten (FF2 on SNES and FFChronicles on PSOne, ect.)

So how much of your collection have you actually completed, or even played? I'm not doing too bad on the played/beaten ratio either, as I've only played less than half of my collection. Man have I got a ways to go though.

i have so many games unbeaten that i dont even want to count....it would just prove that im so lazy that i dont even beat games

I estimate about 10% to 12%

needless to say I better find a way to retire young...and just dedicate myself to beating at least 50% of my collection

1100 games.... i'd be lucky to say i've beaten 100 of them, and i'm far too lazy to count. just look at dreamcast for me... i've beat maybe 6 or 8 games, have almost all of them.... heh. i'd say that sets the standard for me.

I've probabley taken down around 12-15% of my collection. I wish I could say it was higher, but its really not. :/

well i have given at least 2 hours of playtime to at minimum 75% of my collection. The stuff i play out the most is anything i had before 2004, and ps2 stuff. The number is affected greatly by atari crap. In any case, even if I havent played some games, i bloody well intend to, Excepting the select few black tengens that actually suck.(Read: Vindicators and the awful ports of after burner and other sms games)(I got sucked into the land of black tengens after I bought Tetris, RBI BASEBALL, super sprint and road runner).
I swear some day i'll play more of this stuff. I can say this though: I have beaten 32 out of 38 ps2 games. (I consider activision anthology "beaten" as i unlocked everything. Yes even laser blast. <3)

I have a VERY bad habit of getting to the end of games and not beating them. It's the same with TV shows I really like and such. I just don't want them to end.

Beaten games? I've probably only PLAYED 60% of my collection. I just don't have much time, although when I do, it's a bleedin' marathon!

I have about 900 I think (still updating my records), and I'm willing to bet I've beaten at least half.

After very careful statistical analysis, linear regressions, the use of several recursive functions and a night out with the regimental bikini team, the department's resident super computer (a very dependable DEC PDP-6), We here and Jibbajaba Inc. have come up with a value of 17.3%. Pleae note that the margin of error of this figure is +/- 5.7% due to a computer error and the incorrect rum being used in the pina coladas during the company's annual "carribean night" beach party in Yosemite last week.

Jibbajabba's post is good :)

I'd be lucky if I'd beaten 10% of my games. Probably closer to 5%. I've probably only played about 35% of my collection for more than 10 minutes apiece. I enjoy buying games so much that I spend all my time looking for new ones that I don't play the old ones :embarrassed:

I do the same thing - my philosophy is that it is great fun finding/learning (Well, my post in the Comix Zone thread aside - er) about things and that games are getting expensive rapidly enough that if I don't try to buy them now while I still have spending money it'll be much harder to pull off in the future.

I've played about 30% of my collection, but have completed less than that...

I have a VERY bad habit of getting to the end of games and not beating them.

Same reason here. I dont know why either but it seems that I get really into a game and then for some screwed up reason I lose interest. This started happening to me ever since Zelda: The Ocarina of Time was released...I dont know why. :/ What doesn't help the cause is that I keep buying games even though I still have a ton of games I haven't started yet or started but never completed.

I'd say about 10% of my collection is completed...if that.

I have between 800-1100 games. (havent counted in a long time) I would say I have beaten between 1%-2%. Am I ashamed? No. I just enjoy the game, I dont mind if I dont beat some games.

Back when I had an N64 and a PlayStation as my only gaming consoles, I played through everything pretty much until the end. I'd guess what's happening is you're being "spoiled" (OMG!) by variety; you just don't bother playing with something if you're tired by the gameplay. There's nothing wrong with that. I think games like Half-Life 2 are definitely raising the bar for me, as well :P

I'd say no more than 10-15%. I'd really like to boost that number, but there's just too many games and not enough time.

Man, guess I'm not doing so bad then. Still need to plow through all the games I'm in the middle of though.

I used to do that too, play right up to the end and never finish it, but now it's turned into get the flavor of the week, enjoy it immensely for a few hours then get swamped with school and become reluctant to go back to it. These are all the games I'm trying to finish right now, everything in my sig and then some :/

I have around 320 games now and have beaten around 110. I haven't bothered to check how many games i have that are not beatable and if a game is ported to another system (Like the final fantasy examples) i don't consider it beat on that system unless i beat it.

I beat all the mortal kombats on Genesis but only MK 2 on SNES, beat all the sonics on genesis but now Sonic Mega Collection and so on.

Actually i started a word file to keep track of all the games i have beat on what systems about a month ago. Glad to see i am not the only person keeping count LOL

I try to keep track of what time, ending or percent i got on games that i complete that have those as standards for final completion. This is only RPGs though.

Ed had it right. I have variety now, where as back in the day I just had an N64 and finished everything that I brought home.

I buy a lot of games during the nicer months of the year so that I have something for the long winter days. MOST of my games have high replay value...it's something that I look for. Racers and dungeon crawlers.

I've got a lot of gaming to do.
