I've found a jaguar cd system in a flea market by my house, and i was wondering how rare or unrare are these things, and about how much are they worth? I looked in the online guide but I couldn't find the console itself. The price that they are asking for is $25, and i don't really know if it has all the hook-ups. What should I do. Could you all please answer this question? And if you all recommend me to purchase this, what games should I be on the look out for that are fun?

Thanks
Lance

The system when I was looking to buy one on ebay just went for way too much...like 50-90 bucks at the time. Not sure about today. I'd recommend grabbing it for 25, sounds good. Although I have no idea on what the condition is, so 25 may be too much. Hookups shouldn't be too difficult to find if they don't have them. You will also need a ram cart. I was able to grab one on another forum for like 5 bucks complete a long time ago ;D. As far as I can tell, there seem to be NO fun games for it at all. Maybe Dragon's Lair would be entertaining but it's available on so many other formats....

Definitely grab it for $25.

Also, grab any games that you can find, even the crummy games aren't too common in the grand scheme of consoles. The fun games are Tempest 2000, Defender 2000, AVP, Dragon's Lair, Space Ace and about a half dozen others.

How about games like Blue Lightning, Vid Grid, Primal Rage, Myst, and Iron Soldier 2?

I could never undertand how the company operated, they spent a lot of time/resources making non-video game related stuff for the system, like mug, T-shirts, jackets, pens, pins and all other craps, yet they had trouble getting the games out, let alone quality games, unlike their older systems such as Lynx and 7800, 5200, and 2600.

I know they had the following games for the CD format

Baldies
Battlemorph
Blue Lightning (bundled)
Brain Dead 13
Dragon's Lair
Highlander
Hover Strike: Unconquered Lands
Iron Soldier 2
Myst
Primal Rage
Space Ace
Vid Grid (bundled)
World Tour Racing

Also i dont think the JagCD has any copy protection so you could try most games on it thanx to the help of the internet and ISO's!

buy it with a trade in mind. its not so much a gamers system as a collector's system, or rather system add-on. of the early CD consoles its right down there with CD-i at the bottom of the pile. its one of those finds where the fun to worth ratio is way outta whack. in other words you probably wont really enjoy it but you could trade it for a lot of cool stuff.

$25? DEFINITELY!

I usually see these for about $75. $90-120 new.
