ok, so somebody said that DS can be played on TV, i was all haha and i was bored, and to my suprise... the ds images are on TV!! @_@ why is this happening! Its picking up the bottom screen in the mario 64 DS game, mainly the buttons for the camera..

http://www.isgwebhost.com/~trader/uploaded/userfiles/muffinman943/100_3865.JPGin the upper right of the tv

http://www.isgwebhost.com/~trader/uploaded/userfiles/muffinman943/100_3868.JPGon both sides of the TV

http://www.isgwebhost.com/~trader/uploaded/userfiles/muffinman943/100_3870.JPGpretty easy to see there

i tried this with gameboy advance games, and it is showing up perfectly... if any of u have a tv with an antenna, then u guys should try this and see what happened...

(btw plz dont move this, as people on video gaming probably have more tech smarts then ppl on the NDS forum no offense..

is it picking up the wifi signal?

ok, 1 i don't see the bottom image.

2, it's called interference, wich all devices emits, this just gets on the tv cuz they are sticking it to it, as you can see, it doesn't have the correct frequency nor the carrier to make it look at least watchable.

Also that is just a pretty nifty coincidence, but it ain't like it was made to work that way.

and this is why people tell you to turn off all electronic devices when leaving or landing on an airplane

yeah, its just weird because wifi and tv signals are completely different... i wonder if its a loose cable connecting to the top lcd screen that the tv is picking up? Its weird though, because some other dudes have reported this today, and i dont think a loose cable is that common in a nintendo ds.. maybe the parts are really cheap

If thats the TV u use for all your gaming needs, i feel sorry for you ;) ;) ;)
Just messing! I really want a DS!

that is leaking RF noise. The FCC has a nice fine for anyone producing it enough to be picked up from 1/8 mile away (mostly cable companies.)

See Raedon's reponse...it's not the wifi. FCC regulations are pretty strict about interference, but there are acceptable amounts tolerated, since you can't get rid of all of it. Proper shielding and cicuitry must be in place.

However, I think it would rock to play a DS on the TV.

What do the dev kits do, use one monitor or two?

The problem with playing the ds on the tv is the lack of the second screen. And also the lack of a touch screen.

Maybe if the ds takes off they will offer something for the TV?

Well, the top screen could be the TV, and the touch screen could still be in your hand. That would work.

I don't see anyreason they couldn't both be on the screen (or two screens and use the DS as a controller to retain the touch screen).

Or use a touch screen monitor. LOL

Well, I suppose the good news is that the DS is probably pretty easy to hack onto an NTSC TV (or 2)!

(ala TV de Advance)

I know the company that made Sprung has a box that they plugged the DS into, which was then plugged into a PC.

This is why in almost every instruction manual for enarly every electronic device you see some mention about complying with Part 15 of the FCC rules and that the device may interfere with other devices and must accept any interference from other devices

Ok, so did the PC have 1 monitor or 2 attached to it? Did they have the option?
