View Full Version : Cool score while shopping today - Game display racks
While the wife and I were out shopping today we stopped in to a KB Toys that is closing down near here to check out what was left. They were starting to get pretty cleaned-out and had begun selling off the fixtures and displays. While there weren't any really cool video game cases, they did have those plastic spring-mounted racks that hang up on pegboard.
Being the sucker that I am for video game display stuff I asked if they were for sale, and they said "yeah, $2 each." So I grabbed 20 of 'em - 5 Xbox, 5 PS and 10 Nintendo. I need to build a stand of some sort to mount some pegboard to and get them up on the wall, but I did start putting my games into them. Check it out :)

Those are pretty awesome, great find!! Unfortunately, you cant really see the games behind the first one. :/

Those are sweet.
As for not seeing the games behind the first one that would be somewhat of a problem.
I would say use those for the cream of the crop games in front to show off and duplicates in the back for holding.

At least your PS ones are clear, all the ones I bought were black. They do kind of suck for games you want to get at, but for storage they are nice.

I just realized you said they were from KB. They have been closed down by me for 6 or more months now.
The shop i go to they got a huge PS2 case that holds about 1000 games. I laughed when i saw the side and there was a 4+ foot huge KB name going down it.
I've found they actually work pretty well for holding loose carts. The Xbox and Nintendo ones are adjustable width-wise so you can set them to fit basically anything. So I may end up putting the DVD cases back on my rack and filling them up with loose carts.

LOL that's pretty funny. The guy there asked me if I had a store that I would be using these in and I told him no I was just a collector and they'd be going in my game room. I really wish they had a big Nintendo display case or kiosk or something, but it's probably better this way - no room for the bigger stuff and didn't have to spend a bunch of money.
Here's how they ended up:

Thats really cool. Your room looks awesome too BTW.
I will be moving mine around or adding more shelve because i have to take everything out to get some carpet in.
Those are some things i would have never thought to ask for. I will have to keep that in mind. :)

Thanks - I'm not a huge fan of the paneling on the walls in my game room and I've thought about painting over it, but the thought of breaking everything down to do it deters me every time :D
For now I've just got a bunch of posters and gaming stuff covering 90% of the room. Hey, it's easier!

i got a box of those too! i asked the girl(the manager wasnt there that day) and she said "mm..dunno. a quarter each? or is that too much?"
so i bought em all.
im not into xbox though, so i passed on those. shoudve gotten them just for collectability i guess.
here mine are waiting for a peg board...i never thought about stacking them like that.
my kb went out months ago too, but i managed to score some megaman, dk and earthworm jim action figures, crazy taxi remote car, and about 30 'tak and the power of juju' bobbleheads..guess they didnt have too many preorders for that game...

Spfld, Mass.
They closed here last summer... or the summer before.
I don't remember anymore time is such a blur...
Hmm, that may be the reason that my KB is looking so empty. I had figured it was just because of the Christmas season being over. I shall have to investigate one of these days.
