So I'm in my local EB today, looking around and putting down pre-orders for games such as Mega Man Collection (XBox), Kessen III (PS2), Xenosaga 2 (PS2) and FFXII (PS2) when I see they lowered the price on the PC version of Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. $30 now, compared to the $45 they want for the console versions. Well, my PC can handle it and I played the originals on the PC anyway, so why not save money? I bought the game, brought it home, installed it, and looked at Sierra's website for a patch.

All it takes is a little poking and I found that Sierra did the same thing with this game that Eidos did with Singles: Flirt up your Life last year -- on their website is a uncensored nude and 'adult' version of the game, for only $35, with extra scenes and content not found in any other version. It also has the 'dreaded' A rating as opposed to the M version found in stores.

WHOOPS! O_O

Of course I took out the old CC and am downloading it now. I also see this version is avaible for sale on Amazon, but it's more expensive then the $35 download and it may be European. (the adult version of LSL is available in CD form also, but I have cable so download is the way to go).

Now I gotta see if I can go back to EB tommorow and sweet talk them into returning it and getting store credit instead.....I know they won't give me money for it, but that's fine, and maybe I can sell them a story of how the game CD's did'nt work and Sierra told me it won't work on my system, etc. Otherwise I'll have to sell it to someone.

Anyone ever done anything like this?
